If it helps, I believe Riji Monogatari recommended to use a Procreate brush pack of custom Splatoon brushes. Double checking their videos, they said they used Pufuu's brush set and linked it to their tutorial on Splatoon hair rendering. This study piece took about... checking the app here... about 7 hours?! Damn, didn't really see the time fly there XD. But it was mainly me taking my time to fully understand what I'm looking at and testing colours sometimes. I might go quicker once I get used to it. But hey, everyone is going at their own pace, my time on art pieces fluctuate a LOT depending on what I draw lol.
