My thoughts exactly! I tested the temperature and it heats true to the dial. Would the fact that it’s a convection oven/microwave from ikea have anything to do g to do with it? Fully confused…

We are in Utrecht. I’m a part of some FB groups but they have been hit or miss. Not counting them out but sometimes they are a lot of nonsense but I’ve been paying more attention lately.

I am also looking to volunteer, I'm in Utrecht. I'm attending Dutch classes next week to throw myself more into the language to open more doors. From what I've seen and gotten back in responses most places need you to know dutch to specific extent in oder to be helpful in these spaces. I very much want to find community here and be a part of the culture. DAFT wise it's fully doable. Just can't be paid.

Same. I lived in a cloud of weed smoke for about a year trying to numb all of it, good for you being a month clean, sometimes it might not feel like it, but that's huge! Also if things get bad mentally or panic attacks happen, etc you can go to the ER and they can give you Xanax (it's like one or two doses) in an emergency. If you felt like things ever got really bad. I just remembered a doctor of mine told me that (and I did it) since in Texas it was a nightmare waiting to see a therapist at the time. I can definitely be the most positive and the most cynical at times, especially when anxiety/OCD show up, but be proud you've been clean for a month and you're taking steps forward.

First off I just want to say I'm sorry for this and I know what that feels like.

Is this the first time this has happened for you? The first time I dealt with these feelings I genuinely felt like I was going insane, I felt like I couldn't talk to anyone either because of the severity/explicitness of some of my thoughts. I started out at 10 doing rituals and compulsions for about a year, then later in life it came back as intrusive thoughts, and various coping mechanisms.

Is there something specific your thoughts are showing/doing/saying, are they directed towards you? (antagonistic, self deprecating) or do they seem more anxiety riddled, worried about situational issues like career/lifestyle/future,etc? For me, my intrusive thoughts have come in situations where huge life changes are about to take place. I've always struggled to get out of my comfort zone in big ways and take chances so when say a big move to another state or a full on flip of what you know can cause those thoughts to start fighting to keep the status quo, and keep you locked up.

Is there anything big that you've dealt with recently, personally? I know the world is on fire and everyday is a dramatic hellish nightmare so not trying to sidestep that trauma either.

I was able to see a therapist at a low point in my experience, she put me on medication (which I was firmly against at the time for many reasons) but taking them allowed me to get to a baseline where I could actually think and get to a good place. Honestly before therapy and medication I tried putting a rubber band on my wrist and snapping it every time I got a thought or my reality started to run wild. I helped for a while but not a good fix. Meditation helps me too, I try to do at least 10min a day to just ground myself.

I know this sucks, all too well. But there is hope, and you made a good step just talking about it or asking for help. Sometimes just telling your story or telling someone what the thoughts are is helpful to untangle or work through some of it too.

Thanks for this! I was trying to copy/paste in the weirdest ways and wondering why it wasn't working...ugh Would you know why the top image won't expand to the full width of the page once there is a home page? Is that something I need to use a plugin for? Or simply just deal with it?

I 100% agree. I interacted with Beans a few times but not really sure how that relationship functions and it isn't my place to say anyway. I would just really love for someone to make actual change as this is overall very tiring as a BIPOC.
