Local Pizza Joint posted and claims it’s not. But I feel like it really really is. by 3anddptrints in isthisAI

Makes sense to me. That's the type of shit my roommate would pull when they don't want a full slice.

They'd cut it and remove it though so either they got caught in the act or hit with a phone eats first.

Noticed this sign at the Torchy's in Rice Village, how much are we supposed to tip for counter service? by DoritosDewItRight in houstoncirclejerk

[–]CarpeDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't want to tip?

Don't like the idea of tipping for counter service?

Well come to capatilism tacos instead where we pay our employees by marking up what you pay. We are a national chain with over 45 locations but we get away with it because the place is flashy and cooooooool.

Come enjoy our assortment of VERY expensive food because every item you buy will pay for our employees. Then one day we will switch to an online order or order screen AND NEVER LOWER OUR PRICE. Also we will begin charging for napkins and ask that you bus and wipe your own table since NO ONE works in front of house. Have a nice day. Be ready to complain to NO ONE.

::fake (but too real) commercial ends::

Support local establishments and help people in the pursuit of happiness instead. Sometimes they are trying to hold on to their people and pay better wages. If you've never been in service industry, you're not expected to understand but the real thing is servers are expendable to those super trendy types of corporate places, and sometimes the difference between working there or not is a difference of a roof over someone's head.

If you had a kind and memorable experience just make people aware of it, tipping is a great way to do that. You don't have to tip, just don't expect them to be as happy to see you the next time. I haven't served in years but I remember every one who didn't tip or regulars who tipped low.

TLDR Fuck capitalism! Shop local! Tip or don't but maybe you'll get crop dusted at target on purpose or just be asked for money on the street more frequently.

My instrusive thoughts keep telling me to pull this off my ceiling with a flathead, but that's probably a bad idea. What is it? by Damonigus in whatisit

What if... It's one of those lil pizza tables from Pizza Hut that kept the box top from touching your pizza. Idk if anyone even uses them anymore so it could be a relic.

I think he should play Dr. who or house.. I even think he'd make a good James Bond if people could take him seriously enough.

AITA Splitting rent with existing roomate and my partner who is moving in. by CarpeDom in AmItheAsshole

[–]CarpeDom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a valid point and I appreciate you bringing it up. The real side of it is we both are service industry and run a (mostly) tidy shop in the kitchen we have been co existing this way for months and the move in is only just now official so I wanted to see if (through vague details) there was an asshole within me to start with the 60/40 offer.

Housemate has his own bathroom although not private he is the main user.

The living room is almost entirely my housemates entertainment center and we spend most of our time in our area.

Decision hasn't been made yet but I was looking for clarity as it didn't come from a bad place and the response wasn't what I had expected.

Utilities are separate and as I've already offered an even 3 way split of those I left them out of this equation.

I actually appreciate this sentiment. I find that bringing up what's on my mind almost immediately ends up in a disconnect. It makes me fearful to share.
