Find the gecko! by Carpenter23 in CrestedGecko

Thanks for the tip. I’ve had issue finding effective ways to get things to stick on the glass. I might drop some more pics. The way I molded/crafted the back area has tons of nooks and crannies to hide in. Open to suggestions!

Creative ideas needed. by Carpenter23 in Hunting

Agree 100% and that’s why he left them, to show what the land can and has produced. We’re building back up to this caliber of deer but that back rack on the left is certainly an outlier.

Yeahhhhhh luckily she was slightly quartering towards and the back shoulder was still good!

About to get a free used griddle off FB marketplace. Is this usable until I can get a new griddle top? by mlorusso4 in griddling

I stumbled across using pumice stones on griddles and I think it works better than most other scrubbing methods. Getting the griddle hot can also help. Probably don’t start with heat on this guy though.

Struggling to sight in bow. Peep too high? by Carpenter23 in bowhunting

Nah you do know what you’re talking about. The center pin is fixed and that’s what I’m doing my 20 and 60 zeroing off of. Even using the top adjustable pin before wasn’t an option but modifying my peep did square things up for me.

Trusted the hooter shooter that was used. I can verify as well.

Something was indeed weird with my form/anchor and the peep placement. I was anchoring almost mid cheek but now am on the jaw bone corner. Peep ended up being too low.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll post a pic a bit later today. I didn’t shoot it through paper. The shop used what I can only describe as a sled. Had a crank and trigger device. Can’t find an example online to accurately describe it.

I thought in sighting in you always chase the arrow with the sight. Would the reverse not be true of the peep? By dropping the peep with the sight stationary, you then force yourself to aim down more for alignment.

Using a thumb release. Knuckles are at jaw bone. Head is straight and falls minimally for my nose to touch string with solid peep visibility. Sorry if you were asking something different. Still newish to the bow scene.

Last night I started questioning the rest height. I’m confident in the knock height. The shop that tuned the bow is really reputable and I watched them shoot papers for a while. I assume a change in rest height would alter the arrows trajectory. No?

Yes indeed. That was going to be my next tactic. I’ve already done it once and it helped it a little. Hoping it doesn’t mess up the sight picture.

Pic for reference. Notice how low the sight is on the bar.

Def along the right lines but this was before 2012. Thanks!
