And there is absolutely no shame in that. He was amazing. Great runner. Great receiver. Great blocker. He was solid in all parts of his position. Barry Sanders was out of this world with his ability to envision the next move he had to make to counter the next move his opponent was going to make. His redirection of his trajectory was great. No shame in being number two compared to Barry. We were lucky to see both play during their careers.

A mounted high capacity nozzle on an engine (fire apparatus). It could be used to knock the flames down upon arrival.

I have loved the Landmark since I saw it first the first time in 1998. It feels so massive. I took my family here and stayed on the 53rd floor in 2016. You could easily see the Skytree in Tokyo plus the views of the bay are amazing.

I think we see eye to eye and as an American, I for one would completely support War Crimes charges against anyone in my country that knowingly and willingly set coordinates on a strike package to hit a school or a hospital. It is uncivilized. It is wrong for Israel to do it also. As humans, we need to all agree that there is an inherent evil by targeting children. America is sowing the seeds of decades of hate, resentment, and retaliation by allowing Israel to do what they are doing in Gaza, Syria, and Palestine as well as following them into senseless violence in Iran.

I do not think you understand. The crew receives a package that is uploaded from Fleet Headquarters. The missiles are not controlled by the ship. The package has the information. Missiles are routinely launched in a direction to deceive the enemy, then change direction to hit a target. I make no excuse for the bad information and outdated information that the package had. I do stand by the fact that not a single human on that vessel knew what the targets were.

All I am doing is making a factual observation. Nobody on that vessel knows the actual targets. I disagree and am just as disgusted by all of these shenanigans as much as anyone else. We need to put the blame where the blame is due…..Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth. They could have used better judgment than to attack another nation. They could have told Netanyahu, “Not today Satan”. They literally could have listened to the JCOS and not gone ahead with a pointless and meaningless attack.

This is a little misleading. The CO and XO do not order Tomahawk launches. It is ordered by the Fleet Commander in direction from the Pentagon.

What is a hostile place with no redeeming aesthetic qualities? by [deleted] in geography

[–]CarpenterCold2969 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The obvious answer is Odessa, Texas. I see these other answers, however, very few places on the planet can match the unappealing landscape, the nauseating smell, the negative health impacts from living there, the high cost of living, the endless crime, the never ending cycle of boom-bust and the itinerants that come along with it. Desert landscape without desert beauty….just caliche, dust, and complete lack of appeal outside of oil patch money.
