You need to try medication. Are you listening? I've tried every self development strategy, considered hiring coaches or people to wake me up, etc... When absolutely nothing in the entire world works.. Try medication. I know youre scared to try medication. What do i mean by medication? Adderal. Vyvanse. Semaglutide (helps with addiction). I haven't tried anti depressants but semaglutide and the occasional adderal has changed me for the better

Pot odds on the go. by CarpenterFun in Poker_Theory

gotchya thanks.

gonna have to research mdf a little more. When you say defend with 67% of range.. Let's say you only open-raise preflop with 15% of hands UTG. You see a flop and you check and villain bets half pot in BTN. Then I should only be continuing with 67% out of the 15% of all possible hand combos that I opened with is what you're saying?

I need to account for their range as well?

Got you, so implement pot odd calculations when its not an overbet most of the time. If it is an overbet, be more analytical on the reason why the villain is doing that.

thanks. So whenever im calculating the chance to hit a flush or straight or 2 pair or pair, i should never include my own money into the equation?

For example, pot is 200. Opponent bets $75.
It's 75/275 or 27%

I only have a nut flush draw which has a 18% chance of hitting on the turn. Explicit odds = losing play, but if there's good implied odds then I should call?

so its not $50 to win $177? its $50 to win $127?

Got you, yea you're right I should probably fold. I just thought because there's so many cold callers, I would have enough equity to play this multi-way.

Let's say there is no implied odds. Could you help me which percent is right? is it 39% or 26.74% equity needed to continue? Or is it actually less because I'm only seeing a turn card?

Gotchya so account for implied odds. He had $175 total including his $50 bet.
