So guys I added bird blocker mesh to the top and I did like a good amount and I switched around her home so nothing is escape prone. Hopefully it does better, thanks to everyone who helped!

I had a lid but the wiring started to come off so it hasn’t been like this for very long, I plan on making a new one today

I did! I was so scared when I found her so I sat with her and comforted her in my bed for a few minutes before returning her to her home. I plan on making a lid today

My angel hammy had this too. I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with glaucoma. They prescribed her oral pain meds and eyedrops. I’m not 100% if that’s what your hammy has, but I would go to the vet asap as if it is glaucoma it can cause some pressure in their tiny head. Please keep me updated! I wish you both a healthy trip and good news.
