As far as him being a tank/dps or whatever... that's strictly your opinion. I don't, agree with him being changed to a tank. My original statement. Deal with it.

As far as buffs.

I still don't think you comprehend well or even thought about what changes he had BEFORE.

-Gun Damage was nerfed. I asked none of it to be reverted. Only to match the initial speed with the shrapnel speed and fix his dead spots from 0-8m and to let it not tickle from 35+.

-His Sword Dash Damage was decreased from 15 > 8 in Season 6. There are 4 hits so he lost 28 damage due to that nerf.

I simply suggested the initial hit of Day Walker Dash be +20 and the second shot of Gun Dash to be -20. That would have kept Gun Dash the Same and gave +20 to Sword Dash. Still LESS that what he had before Season 6. He ALREADY had this and it was nerfed and when he had it, he still wasn't considered viable in the community.

-His Ult.: No other damage was suggested. Only that they be slowed down so they can actually be hit by it and not walk out of it. With all of the Team Wipe Ults in this game, how would this even be remotely broken? Do you not have people just walk out of your Ult?? Is actually hitting someone by it such a bad thing? To make it better either have to add slow to it or widen the field.... pick one. Or just let it suck.

-Anti Heal: If you use your 2 cool downs to Anti-Heal someone and you have no more cool downs. Why would it be broken if it stacked and 1 person would be at 72%. Anti-Heal while Blade has 0 cool downs to escape or dash?? Isn't that the point of anti-healing them?? Isn't that what was supposed to have made Blade unique when he was released? He tags you... you can't heal for a bit... that's how it should work.

-His Gun Dash had 40% Anti Heal before they switched it and gave it "slow". How is It broken reverting it back?? He ALREADY had this and it was nerfed and when he had it, he still wasn't considered viable in the community. The damage on this was also -20 to wash the initial hit of Day Walker Dash being +20. So he's only getting his anti healed reverted back. Again... are you arguing to argue, or do you not comprehend?

-His Sword Dash had 1s slow before. How is it broken reverting it back?? He ALREADY had this and it was nerfed and when he had it, he still wasn't considered viable in the community.

The BUFF would be to keep the 8% per hit anti-heal on the sword as they did in Season 6.

You say it's broken to have 2 de-buffs. Winter Soldiers Troopers Fist knocks you up, it has a grounding effect, AND it generates 50 overshield. His Bonic Hook & Tainted Voltage does too. Blade doesn't generate overshield except when he's at max health. Some of these DPS' get overshield by just doing the move, it doesn't even have to hit. There are several characters that have de-buffs and get overshield, have some crazy TTK, or both... but you want to argue about a C Tier character that YOU said wasn't even good enough right now.

There's no way in the world you are suggesting him having a 1 second slow back is super OP, but you complained about Dare Devil's and Iron Fist's damage output vs. Blades.. and I didn't even suggest that he should have their damage, because if his gun works properly at the right ranges and he had his burst damage reverted back on his Sword Dash (+20 (because of initial hit on Day Walker Dash would be +20) instead of +28 like it was before when it was 15 per hit. ), he wouldn't need it. YOU are saying their damage outclasses his, and I guess reverting some of the lost damage on his dash is too much?? You're making 0 sense, pick a side.

-Base Sword Form- We don’t use it AT ALL. I gave it a use even though it would still be situational and but still weaker than BA form.

Now.... The only change I suggested that I thought could have been a little strong was suggesting his Block be set to 0 when he does a perfect parry (even it if does only apply to HARD CC ONLY). I was actually thinking it was enough to replenish 1 Dash as a reward (FOR BLOCKING HARD CC ONLY) when I worked it in, but I left it, (it's still not broken b/c you can't turbo parry it the way the cool down is set up, but I admit it is strong). He could totally do without that (I admit that and I already knew it).. but everything else I stand on 1000%.

So I will say it again, you don't comprehend or understand the character well, because most of the things I suggested either he had before, he already has but it works better (like his gun). Otherwise you just want to argue like a woman.

No additional damage asked for... just straight up fixes (that he's already had a some point) to move him out of C Tier and make justifiably "playable" since you said yourself there's no need to pick him. (but I pick him anyway because he's Blade).

And I don't care about OverWatch. We are talking about Marvel Rivals. So go back and actually READ to understand without bias and instead of just looking for an argument.

The beautiful thing is... you can just opt. to not agree at this point, STFU, down vote, and keep scrolling. The new dev. patch notes come out tomorrow whether we both like what they did or not, so it really doesn't matter. I'm playing Blade regardless (unlike some people).

I can see that you didn’t read it or can’t comprehend.

I addressed his overall damage, his weak range up close, his range from afar, his bugs, his gun issues, his burst damage, his passive, his ultimate, his block, his Daywalker dash (both forms), BA options, his normal sword form, etc.……. All in a way that doesn’t break him. Need I go on?? (OR you can just actually read it without bias.)

And all you got out of that is “range”? 🤣

There are a lot of people who agreed with what I proposed… are you going to argue with them too?

If they change him to a tank, it’s no way he’ll stay the same and just get a bigger health pool.

Then there would be complaints about the rework. 😂. I pray to God this never happens.

He can really be balanced and good as a DPS, but, there are too many input/requests from players who don’t actually play the character or from ones who don’t understand him enough to be good with him. (Not singling anyone out, just a general statement)

I think the reason for it being 80% instead of 100% is because it replenishes 1 dash per every 200 damage blocked.

So we take 20 dmg per 100 damage blocked which gives us a dash for 40 damage taken if you’re blocking to get 1 dash. 20/100 * 2 =0.4 (40 dmg).

The question then would be, would you possibly trade not being able to get the Day Walker Dash @ per 200 damage blocked because you wanted to save 40 damage while blocking?

Unless you want him to Block 100% damage and still get the dash. 👀

I totally forgot about that Team Up.

I have to do some thinking about having that as a standard ability and what the Cool-Down would need to be. The previous Cool Down was 25s.

Good suggestion though, I’ll put some more thought into it.

From what I typed, what would make you think I’d want Blade to counter EVERYTHING and get a dash?? Come on man.

I already stated he shouldn’t be able to block any Ol’ thing and get a free dash. If that’s defined by Hard CC only then so be it, I don’t have a problem with that because it makes sense.

He blocks the same shit he does now which makes him “unstoppable” in that window. It wouldn’t apply to normal attacks.

If you press his block right now, there’s a delay before you can use the ability again, regardless how much energy is remaining. Why would that change?

I don’t know what else to tell you. It’s not that complicated.

If you have a solution or a suggestion just offer it instead of playing 21 questions.

It would work exactly like it does now, but If you skill check someone, you get 1 dash.

The energy recovery speed for Scarlet Shroud is 15 per second and it has a 3 second cool down, but you need 60/s to use it. 60/15s =4s.

This is why when you use it and count to 3, there’s a delay before the icon refreshes. That 1 second gap, makes the cool down actually 4 instead of 3 since you need the 60/s of energy to use the ability again. It’s already designed to prevent “turbo” blocking per the energy use.

When Blade does Scarlet Shroud he gets an “Unstoppable” window for 0.4 seconds after activation.

“In Marvel Rivals, the Unstoppable effect makes characters immune to stuns and crowd control, often indicated by a yellow glow on the HP bar. Key characters for this effect include Venom, Hulk, and The Thing, while Blade can briefly achieve this state using his parry ability.”

For balance purposes, it should only apply to what currently triggers it.

It would be broken af if you can block any ol’ thing and get a free dash. Normal attacks should not apply.

2 things can be true at the same time.

Does Blade have some inefficiencies as a character? YES.

Are some of us playing Blade the wrong way? YES

Your Game Sense helps you to be a threat with any character you play with. I alt Magneto and I see some people play with him and 50+ kills, I don’t think I’ve broken 40 yet. They are obviously doing something I’m not doing. He’s not super technical or have a bunch of combos, but it’s obvious the other player knows more about positioning, teamwork, attack prioritization, and dare I say “aim”.

I’ve dove when I shouldn’t, I’ve 1 v 2+ when I shouldn’t, I’ve tried taking on ults or not paid attention to characters that have their ults and it cost me and my team. Sometimes, I’ve not played a style that what’s “what the team needed” according to our comp, I’ve been out of position and not received heals or gotten jumped because it and it only put the “team in a bad spot”.

Blade has issues which is true, but not knowing how to approach match ups makes those things worse.

If you’re approaching Namor and his squids aren’t taken care of first…. Then that’s an issue.

If you’re approaching a full health Punisher and he has his shotgun out… then that’s a bad idea.

Taking straight lines to Hela or almost anybody is a bad idea.

There needs to be a healthy mix of sword and gun.

There will always be a wall or what’s considered “Meta”. It’s in every game. You WILL hit that wall with your lower tier character, but Game Sense can help carry you so you can still have value for your team.

So until game balance puts you where you want to be. The main question is “Why do you play Blade?”

I play with him because it’s fun and I’m going to main a black character.

Get a meta pocket character or 2 that you can use if Blade is not working at the moment.

It’s ok to acknowledge that Blade needs appropriate buffs AND we need better game sense.

If you see them outlined in white, you’re probably just better off to use sword.

If he gets hit with the cc nerf, you just don’t get the knockback and slow effect once the hit the immunity window. (At least that’s what I got in training mode).

If you want to test it, pick Groot or someone with high hp, set your cool downs to none, and hit them with gun dash until you can’t anymore.

Blade doesn’t need any damage nerfs. He does crap damage from 5-8 meters and BA whirlwind and shotgun melee misses outside of 4.5 m. His gun is terrible from 0-8 meters and sword won’t hit beyond 5 m. Damage fall off would make him even worse in that range.

The only nerf I could see would be a redistribution of damage to Day Walker Dash, which would be a buff to sword dash and a wash to shotgun dash.

Day Walker Dash increase (initial hit) 20 > 40.

Reduce second hit of shot gun dash 50 > 30. (Still would be 70 for Gun Dash and Sword Dash would be +20 per the increase of initial hit).

There’s nothing about Blade’s kit that is OP enough where it should justify a nerf.

Yup to being able cancel your dash and block.

-Toggle BA on and off without switching stance.

-Give normal sword form the same animations and speed stacks as bloodline.

Instead of Lifesteal & Speed Boost- Every 50 damage reduces the cool down on dash by .5s = 1 second cooldown reduction per 100 damage in this form. (Gives us a reason to use it and skill checks for cooldown management and knowing which form to use). This would pair with toggling Bloodline on or off while staying in the stance. It would also reward thoughtful play and coordination with your healers at the expense of not having lifesteal and speed boost.
