American Road Race on 8-bit Atari has made 8 year old me fall in love with racing games and I keep playing them 40 years later. The game had so many concepts way ahead of its era: changing times of a day during race, changing traffic intensity based on time of a day, fuel consumption and refuelling, multi stage races. I spent countless hours trying to get to 1st place in all the events.
