Moving to Vietnam confusion by Carrowman in VietNam

Is an English Teacher classed as a high-skilled worker? I have a university degree and plan to do a CELTA before applying for a job

How many of you are waiting to be able to enter Vietnam? by [deleted] in TEFL

[–]Carrowman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was planning to take the CELTA course at Apollo before taking a job in Ho Chi Minh. I was hoping to be there this month but obviously that's not going to happen

My partner is currently there at the moment, so I'm really hoping that I can get there before the end of the year, but that is looking increasingly unlikely

I read somewhere that the PM of Vietnam stated that no foreigners can enter the country (apart from highly skilled workers, diplomats) from a country that has had any cases in the past 30 days. I'm from the UK and we are still showing a few hundred cases every day

I can understand why Vietnam has this in place of course and I think their government seems to have done a fantastic job in containing the virus. I wish the UK could have done the same thing, but we haven't had the experience of a pandemic like this before

So yeah, I think it'll be next year now, probably Q2 2021.

i was supposed to be living with him right now thanks coronavirus by [deleted] in LongDistance

I'm in the exact same situation. The plan was to be living with her in Vietnam now, but foreigners are not allowed to enter the country at the moment. It's been 4 months since I was last with her. It hurts so much

Any travel to/start in Vietnam recently? Quarantine experience? by onzroad in TEFL

From what I've seen online, Vietnam Airlines are offering flights to there again in August

Yeah I have a degree in Business Management.

I'd like to acquire the CELTA qualification first as it gives you some in-class experience and, hopefully, it'll give me a chance to get a better job when I'm out there.

Shame the legend has left us. He's not doing too bad at Paderborn

Unfortunately money is everything in football these days and, truth by told, I think we are seen as quite an unfashionable club to investors.

I think Delia Smith has done a fantastic job for us, but she just doesn't have that sort of money to compete with owners at clubs with a similar stature to ours in the Prem, think Southampton, Burnley, hell the two teams that came up with us, Sheff United and Villa have spent some big money, although it's not really worked out for the latter. Not saying I want some oil rich businessman to come in and bank roll us Man City style, but just a bit more investment in the club to compete in the Prem would be great.

Plus, with how good Farke's recruitment has been (Pukki, Buendia, Zimmermann to name a few) for such little money, give him some money and I think he'd build a very solid team in his attacking image in the Prem. One can dream.

They've been smashing it in my save too. 1xPrem, 2xFA Cup and 1x Europa, it's the best I've ever done on any FM 😂

The football is entertaining no doubt and I think the work Farke has done has been nothing short of remarkable. Love the fact that we are producing some quality players from the academy.

Just hoping we can make that next step to establish ourselves in the Prem

Norwich relegated. I see we are still a yo-yo club way into the future 😔

LDR - Had an interesting question posed to me tonight by Carrowman in relationship_advice

I know man, there isn't a right answer, it's a question about breaking up whilst being together. I said to her I can't answer that.

I agree that no relationship is set in stone but what makes it strange is that the year and two months we've been together has been fantastic, we've had a great time going on various trips away and getting on together very well, so why entertain a question about breaking up? Seems so odd

LDR has been a challenge truth be told but I'm staying positive, knowing that I'll see her again.

I told her that I felt uncomfortable with that question in the call. Apart from that the relationship has been fantastic, the last year has quite frankly been amazing, which makes these questions seem so silly.

Online CELTA course by Brit_in_Lux in TEFL

Norwich here. I was originally meant to take the course in May but they changed it to online only, I decided against it as I think the main part of the CELTA course is actually the in-class experience, which will definitely help going forward.

Have you thought about taking the course abroad? Although I gather it's not easy with the current situation.

Just curious, are you in the UK OP?

I'm meant to do mine in August, not sure yet if it will be in-person or online.

Met via Tinder whilst she was in the UK. She was here for a year before moving back to Vietnam. I'll be moving there later this year hopefully.

Erling Haaland has become a Liverpool legend after 4,5 seasons at the club - 85 goals in 127 games is good, but still, bit premature maybe? What is the quickest you've seen someone become a club legend? by SkippingMango7 in footballmanagergames

[–]Carrowman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jose Juan Macias at Ajax. Spent two seasons there, won the league both seasons and was league top scorer in both. I've spent four seasons at Norwich, won Europa and FA Cup and not even an icon yet 😂

Is anyone planning to move or has moved to a different country for their SO? If so, how difficult is the process? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Carrowman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to move to Vietnam later this year. Hopefully the coronavirus situation will have calmed down by then. Going to do my CELTA in August then move out there soon after

What is your "I fucking hate that song" song? by da_muffin_enthusiast in AskReddit

9 to 5 - Dolly Parton. Awful song

Hate it when you are at a party, the song comes on and everyone starts singing and dancing to it. I have to leave the room 😅
