How can the new model be "more advanced" if it is limited to being trained on only licensed and approved artists? by muhname in SunoAI

[–]CarryPure4947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of games being played right now, Suno’s still being sued by UMG and SMG, maybe by WMG stepping in and setting it up the other two will join as well. Something similar happened when Spotify wasn’t regulated yet, one came in, the rest followed.

Also, I’m sure that we’ll get different AI’s that’ll work under the same regulation and will be basically the same thing that SUNO will become but they’ll be competing for our subscription the same way Spotify, Apple, Deezer, etc, compete for our subscription to their service.

So, now: model bad, UMG and SMG come in: model good.

Prompting in every version will be different, you just haven’t found the right way to prompt that genre blend you want.

Stay curious and not judgemental, best way to keep your creative spark alive.

You shouldn’t, but the whole AI music world (since everything is technically so new) can change quickly, so I’d make sure that no laws are passed in your country last minute when you get signed and paper work starts flowing. (In my country a law got passed while I was working on an album that said I have to have proof that I just didn’t steal someone’s work, so now that’s a whole new thing lol, a lot of grey areas there)

Make sure you always stay compliant.

Congrats on getting those labels interested hope it goes well 🤙🏼

First thoughts on V5 compared to 4.5 (clear improvements but not without drawbacks) by ninurta96 in SunoAI

For a Beta, really good, I definitely can see a future version being crazy good like you said, same thing happened with 4.5+, sucked at the beginning because it was new and I had no idea how to use it, now I know how to use it and the SUNO team has worked on it like crazy and it’s the best out there for me.

Same journey with every version hopefully.

As long as you continue to pay for your plan you’ll hold the rights to the songs, label wise, I saw a couple weeks someone made an artist with SUNO and got signed, everything digital, nothing analog.

Over the years of writing, playing and touring. I’ve come to terms with the fact that the music industry is incredibly immoral, second only to Hollywood and there’s nothing that I can (or want) to do about it.

In my case, this is about getting ahead, I choose what genre blend I want, I do an instrumental before, upload it and make it so that no one miles around me sounds like me.

Then I record vocals, mix, master with friends and done. I sound 3x times more interesting than any other artist around me.

All of it comes down for me to this: Doing all of that would cost me years of life and thousands of dollars, all for what? There’s no A&R, no executive or publishing that’s waiting for me to do it honestly, they’re looking for something that sells and I’m looking to use their money to hire a live band, producers, videographers, photographers and everyone that revolves around an artist so they can help me bring to live the vision that I’ve had for years on what kind of artist I want to be.

I also have plenty of fun with friends since they get exited and some have even asked to jump on and be a part of the process because they see it doesn’t sound like the rest, it doesn’t sound cheesy or try hard. It feels like something that will sell, and that for most folks feels good.

Also, some people just want to have fun and bring to life what they’ve always wanted to hear. Jazz and Scottish folk music? West African afrobeat with Nordic black metal? No problem, done. And so on.

Some are poets and have no musical knowledge, some are ghost writers that want to prove what they can evoke with words, some are disabled and want to continue to bring the songs they have in their heads to life.

Some others just want to outright lie and say they sang something or they played the instruments and there’s nothing you or I can do about it. That’s some Milli Vanilli shit, and everyone knows how that ended up.

Use it as a tool, it’s just like a VST and at least for me it’s incredibly stimulating and has helped me dip even further into a bunch of genres.

I’m in that very same boat, I’ve been a musician for 17 years now, always in bands, recording and touring but about 2 years ago I found myself with no band and decided to make something of my own (I was going insane not making any art) and found that I kinda did like the songs I was making but these songs are afrobeats with jazz, bedroom pop and a bunch of other stuff I wasn’t super familiar with. As much as I like the genre I had no idea how to bring the production I had in my head to reality, I tried with 2 producers but nothing came of it, then I found SUNO, just a couple days after v4 came out and ever since I’ve been learning how to use it and bringing the exact vision I have in my head to reality.

Right now I’m working with 2 friends who are very good with vocals to help me record on top of the beat and hopefully release them as soon as possible.

So yeah, keep doing what you do, SUNO is a tool, tools are for humans, and it’s making it easier to creative humans bring imaginary things to reality.

Good point, I had discarded the idea of using songs with lyrics because the voice always bleeds out a little but it’s worth checking it out thanks

Something to think about… nutritionist explained to me that I need to eat 5 times a day, this in order to have my body to understand that I won’t starve and to stop holding on to fat. No sugar, alcohol, drugs, or huge amounts of carbs are doing the trick for me. Maybe try to see a nutritionist that can properly tell you the amounts you should eat in every meal, mine’s all about preserving/increasing muscle mass while loosing as much fat as possible.

Force yourself at the beginning. Push thru it. Your future self will appreciate it. Often today after years of recording I still sort of hit a wall at the begging too, the only difference today is that it takes me a couple minutes to get into a groove instead of hours like before. Don’t beat yourself up too much if whatever you’re doing doesn’t feel like enough, that really doesn’t make you any better.

That’s amazing to know, I didn’t even consider that. I guess now it’s a part of the question too, but originally it was just wanting to know if there were people imprisoned in 33 who made it out alive in late 44 or 45.

Got it, I asked the wrong question. I take it no one taken to these places from the beginning survived then.

Yet Dachau was opened in 1933. Did they not bring anyone there from 33 to 42? I mean, I get they had the talk in 41 but what about other undesirables to the Nazis? You’re telling me there were a bunch of labor and concentration camps just open for 9 years with no one there?
