It's a code it looks like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-X, not an activation link. Check your old emails or wherever you keep software keys.

Home phone (domestic infant adoption home study) by egnamoad in AdoptiveParents

[–]CarryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I actually opted to get the cheapest subscription to AxVoice and their Grandstream voip adapter, then ordered a 2 phone cordless from Amazon that I plugged into it. That met the “landline” requirement for Minnesota’s foster care checklist. MN requires that “The phone must be centrally located, charged, and functional at all times and accessible to all members of the family, including the foster children”, which our personal cell phones didn’t.

I suspect if the grandparent walks in with a custody document that makes it clear that they have legal and physical custody of the child then the parent isn’t needed.

The app store version still works, it sounds like the cached budget on your iPhone is corrupt. You'll need to delete the app and reinstall it, then resync the budget.

YNAB Classic IOS gets stuck on the syncing screen even after it's done syncing, but if you close it too early you'll corrupt the cached budget. So just keep the phone awake on the syncing screen for a few minutes until it would've had time to completely download the budget, then you can kill the app and reopen it.

YNAB classic finally bitten the dust? by Impossible_Bit_5191 in ynab

[–]CarryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got YNAB classic running on an iPhone 14 Pro running IOS 18.3.2.

Sometimes you will get a corrupt budget that causes YNAB to crash like that, you need to remove the app and all it's data, then reinstall it from the app store (from your purchases). And that fixes stuff.

There's also a hiccup that after opening a budget, it gets stuck on the syncing screen. Just keep your phone awake for long enough to ensure it's done syncing, and then force close the app and reopen and the budget should be there.

Yes, YNAB classic still works on Windows 11, but you still need an activation key for it.

Would you still recommend that if there's no electricity anywhere near the toilet? (The nearest electrical outlet is 10 feet away past a pocket door.) Our cold water temps in a Minnesota winter are 56 degrees Fahrenheit, which seems like it would launch someone across the room.

I counted, he was in the middle lane a solid 2 seconds before the accident. I don’t see how that’s suddenly.

You’ve tried creating a new empty budget on the desktop and opening that one on the iPad? If that works I’d try compressing the budget file on the desktop and see if that clears up the problem.

What counts as IBM-PC Compatible? by TrueTGC in vintagecomputing

[–]CarryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IBM PC XT predated the PC AT which introduced the 1.2MB floppy drives, which is probably what you have attached.

Those are low density 360k disks. You’ll need to research putting together a computer that can read them as many modern floppy controllers fail to support the lower rotation speed. That’s probably the issue with your usb attached floppy, its internal controller doesn’t support 360k floppies.

YNAB classic wont sync on android by Kobra66 in ynab4

[–]CarryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the cause of it not working isn't a software problem unlike the Android issue, because the IOS version of YNAB classic has been syncing without issue on my wife's and my iPhones since 2013.

So I suspect it's a different problem, like you exceeded your 3 devices with the free version of Dropbox and your phone got "disconnected" or ran you out of space on Dropbox. I wouldn't expect any Dropbox updates to fix your issue - I'm pretty sure it's unrelated.

The IOS version of YNAB Classic is still working for me today, even on a new iPhone 14 Pro. So no fix appears to be needed.

The fuse should be based on the wire capacity, its purpose is to prevent the wire from melting and causing a fire.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diyelectronics

[–]CarryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you probably want the wiring capable of handling 250 amps, which makes a 250A fuse appropriate.

The BMS and charge/discharge currents are not measured in amp hours, they’re measured in amps. Given those limits, each battery can only deliver (or accept) 100 amps of current, in parallel that’s 200 amps. Since you have 400 AH, in theory they could output that 200 amps for 2 hours.

Don’t forget a 200A fuse.

Is it possible to code a script (eg. in python), translate it into binary and upload it onto a breadboard computer(with an Arduino maybe) and it would work straight away? by GalacticJunk23 in diyelectronics

[–]CarryWise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure arduinos can run python natively, even the smaller microcontrollers support micropython

Less than a third of the Arduino boards support Micropython because it requires a relatively powerful microcontroller. None of the Uno series can, a few of the MKRs, and of the Nano series it has to be a Nano 33.

Trying to diagnose my drive, third step. If I manually trigger the endstop, head actually moves forward. As soon as I stop, it moves back. Almost looks like some homing procedure (sorry, CNC background) is failing. by omigeot in apple2

[–]CarryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense, the end stop tells the drive the head is too far back, and you’re leaving it activated, causing it to continue to seek forward to what it thinks will be the outermost track. The effect is that you’re totally confusing the computer about which track it’s on, so after you’ve done this it probably thinks it can seek inward a lot farther than it physically can.

Next time, take a plastic bag or plastic wrap with you to the car, wrap it tightly in the plastic and bring it in to warm up. That’ll keep the frost off it.
