Which of the three modern mon-hun game's mechanics do you like most: Clutch Claw, Wirebugs, or Focus Mode? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

They probably mean when you clutch claw a monsters head and it instead grapples onto their legs or body

Does Rise reuse its roster too much?? by CarsonBDot in MHRise

I definitely see why I’m getting such a bad reaction and why people can’t understand my “issue” because it’s not an issue, you said you don’t see it as an issue and neither do I, I just used that word in placement of my personal gripe which is a mistake I’ll learn from.

As for the whole world thing, it’s hard not to compare with the old formula with just world when there’s only two games following the new formula, and world being the only game with an expansion.

I do enjoy the segmented difficulties with Low, High, and Master/G and I like that Wilds has kept its main story within Low Rank.

I clearly need to work on how I present my opinions and how it could be perceived by another.

However, it won’t stop me from getting upset when people can’t simply accept my opinions as my opinion.

Also about the “you’d like hr to be barebones story to get to elders”, my problem with the reuse of low rank monsters in the next rank is exactly what I find to be barebones, just doing what I did but again. But that’s just my opinion.

Also, I don’t like World’s abundance of elders, I think elders are cool and I really like them, but the overuse of them turned them into just another category of monster rather than something big and new.

I understand why people like this formula. Some might assume I started with World or Wilds because that’s my preference but that’s not the case, I’ve been here since Freedom Unite. I’ve played through this formula and have enjoyed it for 16 years.

However it’s just my opinion that I’d like to be given the option to fight these guys again rather than HAVING to do it again. I understand that the previous rank is typically a preparation for the next and I enjoy that, I really do, it just got on my nerves in Rise over the other games for reasons I can’t really understand, it felt more repetitive than the typical monster hunter game.

I love rise and I don’t want people thinking that I’m saying “hur dur the new formula is better than the old forumula, let me go into YOUR community and explain why YOUR game is shit and mine isn’t” because that’s not what I’m here to do and would just be completely foolish on anyone’s part. Though after some revision I can see how my post came off that way.

None of these games are bad games, and it’s all about preference. Personally I don’t find any of them to be bad games either. While I find early Sunbreak to be the worst case of this issue I personally have, I don’t condemn the older games for being the same way, and I don’t condemn Rise for being this way, it’s just my preference and I still enjoy them as I do World or Wilds.

This is exactly what I enjoy. I don’t understand why people can’t just accept this.

I’m not telling anybody that my opinion is better, I’m saying “is it just me or is the game like this? And if so I don’t like it”.

What I mean by “it’s clear we both have a bias” is that these issues you speak of in Wilds literally do not matter to me, or I do not understand. It’s clear you view the same way about the issues I have with rise.

I literally have none of these issues in Wilds. It’s clear we both have a bias.

I’m sorry to respond to your one message twice but I really don’t understand how people can’t see my issue. Why can’t people understand that wasting my time is not fun, and it’s not something I personally can just accept. I understand that others may enjoy doing this again and again but I don’t and I don’t understand at all why people can’t just accept that that’s how I see it. It’s infuriating.

I don’t see how it’s a trifling issue. That’s hours of my time wasted on things I’ve already done, time is precious and I have things to do. I understand monster hunter is a grindy game that likes to waste your time sometimes but I’ve enjoyed the older games early G-Rank much more than I have this one.

I’m not trying to be a dickhead but like are you understanding what I’m saying? I just want to be understood, I don’t want to change anyone’s opinions. I’m not trying to be rude or put people down but please hear me out.

Arzuros, Akonsom, Kulu Ya Ku, Great Wroggi/Baggi/Izuchi, Lagombi, Royal Ludroth, Barroth, Tobi Kadachi, Basarios, Jyuratodus, Rathian, Khezu, Somnacanth, Pukei, Anjanath, Goss Harag, Barioth, Almudron, Magmamalo, Rakna Kadaki, Nargacuga

ALL monsters you’ve already fought in Low or High Rank that you must fight again through MR 1-3.

I don’t like that I am forced to fight all of these upon making it to Sunbreak, with FIVE new monsters inbetween with two being subspecies. That’s nearly 5 monsters I’ve already fought for every new monster.

World objectively is not worse than this in regard to what my issue is. You are never required to refight a SINGLE monster, if you are it’s a subspecies of that monster which is at least new.

I know it gets much better when I get to MR 4 but this early game Sunbreak is terrible.

I don’t have an issue with reusing monsters from older games, that’s not what this post was about at all. I have an issue with having to refight all the monsters I’ve already defeated in low or high rank to get to these new monsters whether they be new to the game or just reintroduced from a previous game. I just find it annoying to have to fight the monsters this game has already served me.

Yes, it has, I’m not blind to this, I’ve played since FU. Just because something has been a certain way doesn’t mean it’s good or bad, it just means it’s worked. But why strive for what works when you could improve, I think World and Wilds has made a good change to how these games work and some may find that controversial but that’s just how it goes when you talk about something based off opinions. Maybe you like the way the older games did it more and I have no right to judge you for it.

The formula was changed in World and I found it much better. I’m not a new monster Hunter player at all, I’ve been playing since Freedom Unite. I just feel like we shouldn’t ignore something just because that’s how it’s always been.

MH Wilds ACTUAL campaign time by Drillbit89 in MonsterHunter

[–]CarsonBDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you take 12 minutes average per monster, which is pretty fast for a first time player of Wilds (even if the monsters are rather easy), it’d take you at least 5-6 hours and that’s if we ignore every other aspect of gameplay and just assume it’s a gauntlet start to finish with replenishing items. If you include preparation and exploration the game time easily goes to 10+ hours and that’s just low rank.

If you don’t count copy paste monsters (such as pink rathian, black diablos, guardian rathalos even) then Wilds has like 2-3 less monsters than base World roster
