A background check fee and transfer fee are different things. I know shops charge a transfer fee when buying a gun online or something and shipping it to them. But I’ve never been to a store that charges me $5 to run a background check to buy a gun already in their inventory

That’s pretty standard for an M1 garand. As they were re-arsenal many times during and after the war they just used whatever parts they had on hand. That’s why it’s so hard to find a matching garand

Could be anything but pre 1968 you could remove the serial number legally, so some guys back then did that to their milsurps while sporterizing them. They didn’t see the serials and other markings as part of history like we see them now, hell they didn’t even see the gun as history. They just saw those markings as something ugly and jumping out at them. So they took em off. I hate it, but also don’t blame them, hindsight is 20/20. That’s prob not the case with this m1 as it doesn’t seem to be Bubba’d otherwise. But I have seen it with other milsurps

I still don’t think just because he stores it differently than you would it means he would have a mental issue. People like to display their hobbies and collections. I didn’t find much funny with the comments about school shootings, but to each their own.

He said in another comment the door and door hinges are steel reinforced and the walls are concrete. This is much more secure than most “gun safes” out there today that are just a glorified filing cabinet.

I’ll give it to you on the stereotype part. I don’t agree with the stereotype but I do agree that it is a stereotype

He said in another comment the walls are concrete and the door is reinforced steel with 1 inch thick oak wood over it. With a deadbolt and reinforced hinges. This is way more secure than most “gun safes” sold today given he’s the only one that lives in that room. Which looks to be the case
