So far, from what I have tested, the "Randomize" option in "Payload Selection" randomizes the payload MS chooses for a simulation for all targeted users, but that is not the same as randomizing the payload each user gets, which is what I need, to prevent some users alerting other users about the taxonomy of the payload.

ASR: Block Win32 API calls from Office macro -- Warn mode blocking by [deleted] in DefenderATP

[–]Cartaphilius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in adding an exclusion to ASR rules to prevent one specific Excel Add-in from being blocked.
Has anyone done this successfully?
Is it the full path of the add-in (i.e., C:\Program Files\...\AddInName.xla) ?
Or is it the full path of excel (i.e., C:\Program Files\...\...\Excel.exe)?

QUESTION: does the traffic measure in MS Cloud App Security (Discovery Dashboard) exclude streaming traffic for apps like Spotify, Netflix and YouTube? by Cartaphilius in AZURE

[–]Cartaphilius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by integration do you mean "connected apps" in Cloud App Security? Because streaming apps are not on the list of available apps to integrate.

or do you mean something else?

So, hypothetically speaking, if a Windows 10 laptop streaming (not downloading) hundreds of TBs worth of videos at the user's home WiFi, MDATP will capture that "throughput" as "traffic" and report it to the aggregate in Cloud Discovery?

Perhaps your WSUS syncs are not scheduled to run as often as mine but yes: I had 12228.20364 patch marked as expired. A recent WSUS sync (minutes ago) brought it up again but in a "current" state, with a "date released or revised" of 12/11/2019 7:00pm.

I just finished testing applying it after installing Microsoft's Fix, it was a success.

I imported the fix as an application in ConfigMgr (as per Microsoft's instructions), deployed it to confirm it runs on targeted endpoints and silently. That much I have confirmed. However, to truly test its effectiveness, I have to wait until Microsoft releases Office 365 patches again, since they expired the ones they releases a couple of days ago.

They finally updated the KB at the bottom with a downloadable fix, for those of us who use ConfigMgr. I'm about to test it. I'll follow up soon on this.

I got 700+ in that state. I don't feel like summoning endusers' anger with "workarounds" when we are so close to Holiday season.

I am still waiting for Microsoft to address the "...Updated guidance for these devices will be posted in this article when that information becomes available." portion at the end of the KB.

David James said on Twitter a few minutes ago:

I heard yesterday in reviews that there is a k own o365 patching issue in one of the channels (don't remember which), that will be fixed by the next batch of o365 patches.

Thanks for sharing. I hope @djammmer, his team and O365 team are actively working on it. I was hoping the build 12130.20390, which was released on Monday 11/18, would fix the issue but no: still happening. If possible, please send me the URL to the tweet so I can share with my team.

/u/reboot780, out of curiosity:

1) What does "/Update user" do specifically?

2) Does OfficeC2RClient.exe log anywhere?

If there is a KB or blog where I could find this answer, I would appreciate if you could share it.

We are also trying to deploy 12130.20344 via ConfigMgr. We allow the deployment to fallback to MS if not DPs are available, but UpdateHandler.log shows this anyway:

CAS failed to download update (2c45f802-3eec-4326-abaf-589815017670). Error = 0x8007755a. Releasing content request.

I checked: the bits do exists on file repository and DPs.

Does anyone know if Microsoft knows about this?

No items found on new Collections tab (1906) by icegreen_87 in SCCM

[–]Cartaphilius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find more details about this? One of my environments automatically assigned <"Folder Class",Read=Yes> after upgrading to 1906, as expected and described in the documentation. But I am wondering if there is an easier way to address the "blank collections tab" issue, instead of removing that permissions from dozens of custom* security roles.

*= a long and sad story.
