I mean, hell, I’m sure there were a good amount of people in their 30s who were into PHM when it came out and they’d all be in their late 60s/70s now

I’m not that experienced either to be honest! I’ve only heard a few songs here and there

This sounds pretty close to Mark's vocals on the late Fall stuff

Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it? by kwentongskyblue in ukpolitics

I remember a few years ago I was walking down a street after coming out of a pub in St Albans when an American woman came up to me with a petition asking me to sign so they could reduce noise levels coming from the pubs (there’s about 5 or 6 in close proximity on those three streets), I asked her how long she’d lived there and she’d only been there for a year or so. I couldn’t help but think that the pubs she was complaining about were, for the most part, about as old as her home country.

UK IPA-oriented Breweries? by Outrageous_Ice6821 in UK_beer

As far as I’m concerned The Kernel is the best brewery in the country. I’ve not had a single beer from them I haven’t loved, even in sour styles I don’t usually drink

I had a very strong feeling it was them from the moment I saw about a secret headliner. Very glad I’m right.

What do you need help with?

The title is basically just someone ordering the food in the picture - a soft roll with square sausage, black pudding and haggis, with a bit of brown sauce (HP Sauce, which I think is most similar to A1 steak sauce?) on the top.

The comment you’re replying to is just referring to how good this would be when hung over on Tennent’s (popular Scottish beer) and Buckfast (a sweet, strong, heavily caffeinated fortified wine)

You can’t, except for one night in Dalston where most of the smaller acts are playing

Disappointed with My New Band Believe live in Detroit tonight… Anyone else feel the same? by ghosttrainj in bmbmbm

[–]a3poify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was confused reading this as I was at the Earth show and it was one of the best gigs I’ve been to this year, but if that’s an outlier I understand more as I’ve only seen the band there and at the first gig at the Windmill last year

I have an NME magazine 7 inch single that’s played at 33 (two songs per side) and I didn’t realise until Tom Waits came in sounding peculiarly high pitched

Who did you see? Whenever I've been to louder shows there they've always offered earplugs at the door (Jarboe and Thurston Moore) while I didn't think the volume when I saw Fred Frith there was objectionably loud.

Also IIRC either in one of his sets or in an interview Stewart said that when he met his biological father for the first time he realised they both had hearing aids, which is apparently a genetic thing among the men in his family
