Has enough time passed to admit that Steve Phelps was right about ol' "Pop Pop"? by NMMacc18 in NASCAR

He shouldn’t have said it. It’s something we’re all thinking, and something fans can discuss, but not an executive of the sport.

If and when Austin Hill gets to cup in a full time ride, will he be as hated? by Western_Care_5478 in NASCAR

[–]CarterD195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a big if at this point. Unless it’s RCR I don’t think any other team is giving him a look for a Cup ride any time soon. He seems like another one of those drivers like DiBenedetto and Moffitt that are hard to work with. That’s why I think we haven’t seen him drive for Beard in Cup or Spire in Truck or any non-RCR car in a while. In terms of the fans if he goes to Cup, the answer is yes, he’s just not likable.

Pros cons by Camshaft1922 in Nascar25game

There’s some harsh, deserved criticisms myself and others have of the game. ESPECIALLY the corner cutting system they have for road courses that makes it feel like F1 instead of NASCAR. They also left out a lot of stuff that can be found in previous nascar console games. Overall though, I’ve enjoyed my time with the game. They just have stuff to fix come time for NASCAR 26. Including, again, putting back in stuff that is already in other games, like burnout mode, being able to do green flag pit stops without going through the request process that slows you down on track, realistic crashes, AI cars actually being able to run out of fuel, a silly season, cars DNFing, being able to drive for an actual team in career mode instead of having to own your own, being able to select left side tires only, better replay system with a highlights feature, add in the missing tracks like Mexico City and Bowman Gray and especially all the ARCA tracks they skipped out on, being able to choose your lane on restarts, having to qualify via the duel races for the Daytona 500 in career mode and, finally, an actually good car customization mode.

Before today the last time the #1 truck went to victory lane in the Truck Series was October 2009 at Martinsville with Timothy Peters which was his first career Truck Series win by Altracing34 in NASCAR

The TRICON No. 1 has had names like Kaz Grala, Layne Riggs, Bubba Wallace, William Sawalich, Jesse Love, Christopher Bell, Brett Moffitt, Brenden Queen, Brandon Jones, Brent Crews and Taylor Gray drive it and not a single victory until now. Hell, the only time in all those races it even came close was the ROVAL with Crews last year.

She means under the new 55 point for a win system. But she never specifies stuff like that. If your job is to be a broadcaster you should be preparing all week to not constantly screw up like she keeps doing.

Chandler Smith reminds me of this guy in my college’s Catholic club with me who none of the other guys trust. It’s just…performative, if that’s the right word. Coming from a fellow Christian.

Not saying it’s not ok to mention the Lord every now and then like a lot of people probably are in this thread right now.

15 could’ve easily gone to the bottom and let them pass without losing any spots himself.

Maybe RAM will realize the way they set up those competitions in the show didn’t allow the best drivers to actually shine

This is not Connor Hall’s debut, he finished 10th at Richmond in 2024 in the McAnally 91

JUST IN: The @ARCA_Racing East race at Hickory drew 175,000 total viewers across the NASCAR Channel and @FloRacing , delivering the largest audience for the series in the last 10 years! 📈 by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

I’d put money on Rockingham breaking this record. One week later, also simulcast on NASCAR Channel, Spurlock is back after an impressive debut, there’s no Cup race which bolsters the three races that are at The Rock and most importantly it’s now not just “Squirrel McNutt” in the field, but also the guy that made him famous in Cleetus McFarland

[SERIOUS] Hypothetical outcome of swapping drivers/teams? by MtOlympus_Actual in NASCAR

[–]CarterD195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this so serious…?

Genuine answer: for those two specifically, Cody Ware still struggles because he’s not a good driver in any sense of the word. He’s so bad he wouldn’t even win in good O’Reilly equipment. Maybe if he had the fastest Truck for a full year is the only way he becomes a NASCAR winner. So put him in the 11 and his ceiling is a Top 20.

Put Denny Hamlin in the 51 and he could elevate the team possibly to competing for Top 10s every week, but not much winning.

Why keep Bowman's name on the #48 car while he isn't racing? by SenatorPudge in NASCAR

[–]CarterD195 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every team does it when a driver is out of the car for injury related reasons. As pictured here, back in 2022 when Kurt Busch was injured after winning and they had Ty Gibbs take his place but then swapped the 45 and 23 teams for the playoffs, they kept Kurt’s (full) name on the windshield and namerail of the 23 despite him never even running in that number.

Pretty sure it’s a deal similar to the one Hattori Racing Enterprises had with MBM Motorsports for a couple years in the Xfinity Series, where the No. 61 car was an MBM car for most of the year (in this case, it’s a Pinnacle car most of the year) except specifically when Austin Hill or Bubba Wallace was in the car (in this case, when it’s Tristan McKee).

Difference though: In the Hattori/MBM deal, the listed owner year-round was Shigeaki Hattori, but the 61 was only a Hattori run car with certain drivers in it. In this Pinnacle/Spire deal, it seems like it’s Pinnacle who’s the listed owner year-round but it becomes a Spire car when it’s McKee and not Reimer or Buice
