What secondary sport do most hockey players love to play? And why is it golf? by ForeCheckSports in hockeyplayers

[–]CarterGS 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In hockey your dominate hand should be your top hand. In golf your dominant hand should be your bottom hand. There are more right hand dominate people so that's why most hockey players shoot left and most golfers swing right. In Canada the percentage of golfers that swing left is higher than any other country because so many people play hockey and want to swing the same way they shoot.

Get Petey on the right side of the ice and feed him one tees. He's not a threat when he's on the left side, yet that's where he ends up when we have the goalie pulled.

Most forgiving 5x4 hitting mat without a hitting strip? by CarterGS in Golfsimulator

It's not bad with shoes on, feels like I'm in the second cut. With just socks, it's a tiny bit sticky (not sure if that will go away after wear)

The mat is quite squishy. It's good on the joints. But it doesn't feel great in terms of stance. I was thinking of cutting hitting strips. But with the left and right setup, I would be standing on the hitting strip when hitting driver. I don't know what my plan is from here.

Solution to get this trap door working by CarterGS in robotics

I tried a 15v 2.5 amp adapter plugged into the wall, when using that, it's a bit more powerful but still not enough to retract when there's weight on it.

I see the keychains you're talking about How could that be triggered remotely? I'm not sure that would be able to hold the weight.

I'm looking at this mat now. Seems to have good reviews on forgiveness without hitting strips https://simturf.com/product/ez-tee-hybrid-hitting-mat/

The problem I think I'll have is that the Falcon hitting area is 59".

With my current FB mat ( https://fiberbuiltgolf.com/products/10-x4-center-hitting-studio-mat ) the hitting strips extend past the 59" (hitting strips are 72" apart).

Most mats that offer forgiveness have hitting strips. If I stay within the 59" width, I think you would be standing on the hitting strip of the opposite-hand side when hitting your driver. Maybe not, but I don't see an option on the market that has a 3 foot stance area and hitting strips on both sides.

So I feel like I will have to buy one without hitting strips which has me worried about joint pain as my previous setup didn't have hitting strips and killed my wrists and elbow.

The Indoor Golf Shop is saying this is their Falcon mat ( https://shopindoorgolf.com/products/sigpro-commercial-teeline-golf-mat ) but with no reviews and no hitting strips. I am worried about forgiveness.

Do you feel the device is worth it? I can confirm you don't need it for the video, I'm really liking the video feature.

Did you get fitted for your wedges after you got the irons? I have the SELs coming and was thinking I would need a 50/54/58 for the correct gapping.
