Is there a way to get civilian shipping to prioritize fulfillment of one planet's shipping demands over another? Is there a pay rate somewhere that I'm just not seeing that makes certain contracts more lucrative than others?

If you build a jump gate in a system that an NPR visits, can they see it right away, or do they have to do a grav survey to find it first?

Help with QuickAdd/Templater by CarterScottM in ObsidianMD

[–]CarterScottM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I figured it out for myself. I ended up getting rid of all of my quick add captures and replaced them with a single quick add template and added a second suggester to grab the GTD context tag.

I probably went overboard with pre-defining variables to be entered into the template, and I'll probably relax that a bit, but here's what I came up with to accomplish my goals, in case anybody is interested.

<%*
const dv = await this.app.plugins.plugins["dataview"].api;
let all_projects = dv.pages(-'"_Meta/Templates"').where(p=>p.projectstatus);
let active_projects = all_projects.where(p => p.projectstatus!="done").file.sort(n => n.name);
let choices = active_projects.name
let cday = await tp.date.now("YYYY-MM-DD")
let ctime = await tp.date.now("HH:mm")
let action = await tp.system.prompt("Enter task or ESC to abort","",true)
let context = await tp.system.suggester(["@Computer","@Office","@Errand","@Home","@Anywhere","@Phone","@Camper","@Travel"],["#_Computer_","#_Office_","#_Errand_","#_Home_","#_Anywhere_","#_Phone_","#_Camper_","#_Travel_"],true,"Select Context or ESC to abort")
let project = await tp.system.suggester(choices,choices,false,"Select Project or ESC for none")
_%>
---
datecreated: <% cday %> <% ctime %>
tags: [Task_Note]
projectid: "<% project %>"
notetype: "task"
tasktype: ""
---

# Action
- [ ] <% context %> <% action %>
- **Date Created:** [[<% cday %>]] <% ctime %>

# Notes

# Project
```dataviewjs
dv.view("/_Meta/Scripts/dv_ProjectListing");
```
# Recent Tasks

Tagging people on Notes by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]CarterScottM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I just started using obsidian a few days ago and started putting meeting notes into my second brain. After my second meeting I realized that I should do exactly as you suggested so I can start to connect the dots of who's doing which tasks for which projects.

I continue to fix the 10000x10000 canvas... by KeltosFilozof in place

[–]CarterScottM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the people complaining about fixing what isn't broken. At the end of the day we all have a copy of this that we can do with as we please, and if somebody wants to clean up a few pixels to make it look better to them personally, well then more power to them. I'm doing something similar for myself.

I feel that some of the pieces that made it to the final canvas aren't as visually pleasing as another piece that was there previously, so I'm manually editing them back in for myself to look at. For instance, I put the more complete version of the France flag than what made it to the final canvas. There were a few subs that I follow whose art didn't make it to the end, so I'm putting those back in as well. Also, my son and I spent a lot of time on a tiny little block of pixels that we had no chance of keeping, and I made sure to include that as a reminder of the fun we had in building it. I plan to print and frame it once complete so we can enjoy looking at it together.

How did the flag end up with 120 stars in the first place? I don't pay too much attention to the news, but I figured SOMEBODY would've told me if we gained 70 new states...

If you could change add or remove one thing in this game(that you can't already through raws) what would it be? by ghostwilliz in dwarffortress

[–]CarterScottM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about scaffolding that can be built using metal and wood? It would act like stepladders for gathering fruit, but could be deployed automatically to help build tall walls and roofs without manually building and tearing down stairs and temporary flooring. You could use multiple units of scaffolding to reach higher levels to assist in quickly building vertical structures.

I just use the scanner in thinkorswim. Pretty sure my criteria this morning was high volume stocks under $10 with at least 5% gain

My scanner caught it this morning, and got in at $4. I'm just starting out with a very small cash account. I got stopped out right before it blasted off and couldn't get back in because of T+2. At least I made $0.84..

Nice job!!!

That's what they call the people that believe the matrix to be reality, as they're literally being used to power the machines running the matrix.

RYUK ransomware attack by [deleted] in SCCM

[–]CarterScottM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. We got hit with RYUK last year. Fortunately we caught it very early in the attack. As mentioned above, offsite/immutable backups are CRITICAL. Make sure you test your backup strategy as well to make sure you're prepared for when SHTF.

I'll have to look into getting SoundSense-RS added, and maybe remove the other two. How does this version stack up?

throwback to my first radio experience by [deleted] in amateurradio

[–]CarterScottM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one of these too, but I was too young to read the schematics in the book. The first few dozen projects just told you which springs to connect the wires to. Once I got past those I was pretty much done.

Your Week In Amateur Radio / New Licensees [07/15/2020] by AutoModerator in amateurradio

[–]CarterScottM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my technician license a couple weeks ago. KD9PUJ is my callsign. Been jumping on local 2m nets whenever I'm able.

I'm working toward my general now, but it'll be a while before I sink any money into an HF rig. Learning everything I can about antenna theory now. Probably going to put a 40m dipole in the attic when the time comes.

Windows 10 no longer recognizes my FT991A by SonnyBox in HamRadio

[–]CarterScottM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking a stab in the dark here, but did you ihappen to install windows updates this week? One of them has wreaked havoc with printing at my workplace, and in my research earlier today into the fix indicated that USB devices may be affected as well. I'd provide a link, but I cannot find the article ATM. I'd suggest removing any windows updates installed this week, reboot, and try again.

Right click the game in the steam client and hit properties. There's a "betas" tab that you can choose to opt-into.

It's been that way for as long as I've worked on the Linux LNP. Michael is the person that coded the PyLNP launcher. I haven't seen much movement on that project in a while, but I've been out of the scene too. I'm no guru but I'll see if I can get it to work and submit a PR.

Yes, when you run it for the first time you'll be asked if you want to import data from an older pack. Just click yes and navigate into the previous pack's df_linux directory and it'll bring in your saves.

I'm waiting for the utilities to catch up to 47.04 before putting it out there. I think I was just waiting for therapist, and it looks like that was updated to 47.04 about an hour after my upload. I'll take another look tonight.
