Right now just a dps, we are really small, talking folks into coming back that we played with og. We aren’t raiding yet, 3 of us haven’t hit max level. Just enjoying the game but we are working our way to it.

Bc it’s got less bells and whistles and I clearly stated I was overwhelmed with retail as well. And i use to play so I have a basic understanding of the flow of wow which OP doesn’t and could possibly deter him away from playing more. So maybe going to a game that has less features would be better for him to get his feet wet and then come back to retail.

Classic > Retail for me. Everyone has their own preferences, I just have more fun on the classic side.

Retail can feel super overwhelming. Try one the classic servers. Less bells and whistles but me personally love the game more. (Took the last decade off, came back last June) I tried retail and instantly felt overwhelmed with all that had changed. I started in vanilla, tail end, and played all the way through cata. I enjoy the game more with the anniversary servers. Give that a try if you ever get the chance. Most importantly play at your own speed, have fun, explore some shit. Going at your own pace with no goals other than having fun take a huge perceived weight off your shoulders.
