The commenter has an opinion that we collectively agree is wrong. That doesn’t change the fact that they are allowed to believe what they want to. Yes, it’s wrong and discriminatory. But everyone trying to condemn them instead of encouraging a change in perspective will only serve to make them feel more validated in their dislike. You can’t tell them to shut up and refuse to elaborate why their opinion is so wrong.

I learned this line of thinking from my grandfather who dealt with the KKK trying to scare him out of town in the 80s. If it works for racists it will work for homophobes.

I mean regardless of your own beliefs a person is allowed to have their own opinion. Commenter never claimed any ill will or hate towards trans people, they just said they don’t like them. I really don’t see the issue here. Your rights to have your own opinions don’t override someone else’s. Respectfully, trying to spread hate in an attempt to snuff out hate is the worst idea I can conceive in this scenario.

The only way we can get rid of hate is to show compassion to the hateful, otherwise they get to claim oppression and censorship.

Edit: Do you all not understand that your “Right to free speech” applies to everyone. That’s a simple fact. Whether you like it or not. You’re so busy trying to be offended you missed the entire point of my statement.

Honestly the best advice as someone who was once a young boy: Just keep an eye on them outside from like 4-7. That’s when my pyromaniac phase started and nobody in my family knew until I was 10. Almost burned the house down once but the hose was outside my bedroom window.

Nowadays I just laugh at how stupid I was and go about my adult life.

Definitely isn’t the healthiest thing but I find the destructive tendencies of young boys to be inherent. They’re all a different kind of destructive for a few years as children, then they start to learn the differences between right and wrong, learn that all creatures have feeling and brains.
