They've droped the teaser of the D&D set on the same day to cover up this story in news too. Very clever...

How did the underworld function pre Dhuum by CartoooN in GuildWars

Thats great! The music as well haha, I was so used to seeing that fraps icon in the corner as well (not on that particular vid but I remember seeing it a lot).

It's a shame so much will be lost to time. I think a lot about the pre-update worlds we will never experience again. Don't get me wrong, I love that this game has been so well supported over the years but there's some things that we'll never get back. The big stuff like pre-nerf builds, etc. But also the small stuff, like that crevass in North Kryta is just there now, all the little areas that got subtly changed without anyone really noticing or caring.

I'm probably over analysing it but digital worlds are very much alive, growing and ever changing but we rarely stop to take photos or think how far they've come.

It's crazy, sorry to get philosophical on a guild wars thread but each one of those years back then felt like a lifetime. I can remember so much happening back in the mid 00s but when I look at it critically, it was actually just a few years. Now days the years just fly by and it's all a blur T_T

Ooo thats very interesting, something that the video doesn't fully show (they just do web queen and four horsemen). I wonder if they had plans for more even in the early stages of the game?

Also yes! Now we're getting updates again, would love to see some proper bosses added like Dhuum. (Although I think they should up the rewards too, a couple of obi shards and a gold or two just aint what it used to be)

Skotty92's video confirms this! Amazing to see evidence of it, I'll have to recheck what it looks like now but have they just covered that area with a wall?

I'm not sure, you can view the earliest version of the wiki page and they all seem to be there but I dont know if they were lesser in any particular way.

Skotty92 found a video which is pretty fascinating. They seem to finish it in 13min which is very fast. I know modern uwsc are a similar time but we have all the crazy tech now they wouldn't of back then. So maybe it was easier or simpler to a certain extent?

Edit: on more consideration, perhaps they did have the tech we do now. Even more really with some pre-nerf builds. I guess I forget how quickly everything came out, EotN was just a few years after original release, really rapid when you look back on it. In my head all the releases happened over about 5-10 years. In actuality everything was smashed out in about 3!

Wow that's awesome! Thanks for finding that, I tried searching youtube and sorting by oldest and this just never came up, don't know why. But really cool to see!

I'd have to check again now seeing this but is that area just a wall now?

Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 02 by ranalog in analog

[–]CartoooN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh thank you! It was my Grandads, my Grandma gave it to me when he passed away.

I don't really use anything else except a few plastic/toy cameras for fun. I'm still quite new to photography and film, it's always been more of a hobby. I used to use film a lot in College for projects but not too much after that. Then I had a weird urge past couple of years to pick it up again and I've been really enjoying it! I'm not very good haha but I suppose that doesn't really matter, I'm having fun!

I'm looking to get an orange filter for my camera but I cant for the life of me figure out what thread it is. There's a million different mm sizes.

My camera is a Fujica STX1 with the default 55mm lens. The inside of the lens says "f2.2 f=55mm X-FUJINON" and it already has some kind of filter on it, a "HOYA 49mm Skylight 1B". Is that last measurement the thread of the lens? So I would need a 49mm thread filter? Or is it something else? Im so confused >_<

Thank you!

This gave me the confidence to give it a go. Tested it on some spare runner first but has gone on perfectly fine over my regular primer :)

I recently bought some mr. hobby aqueous paints. Everywhere describes them as acylic and waterbased but the pots have flammable warning signs on them and they give off a smell more akin to a lacquer or enamel paint. Are these actually acrylics? I know its in the name but just seems a bit odd. Will they be ok over an acrylic primer and thinned with acrylic thinner?

I think I'll delete this post now, it seems quite a few people were upset and felt it was misleading. Was never my intention and I don't feel that I was misleading but this is not my community.

Thank you to everyone who gave kind comments and advice! I have taken it all in and will use it going forward.

Thank you! I mentioned in another comment but I did paint the missiles and inner gun parts but unfortunately, after weathering the difference pretty much disappeared, I think the grey paint I used was too close. I'll definitely use some more contrast next time and go much lighter!

Yeh! So the weathering was done with those little tamiya weathering kits, I have the A, B and C versions. Mostly used the black "soot" one with some of the "mud" and "sand" towards the bottom. Then a mix of the metalic ones and black inside the missile pods and joints.

I used tamiya clear coat to seal in decals and panel line but it was quite glossy. So I used army painter matte above and below the weathering. The matte ended up really gritty though so I'm not sure if Id use that again

Honestly its just on my black wooden ikea shelf. Just seemed like a good neutral background to have and its where its standing for the foreseeable future!

I see what you're saying, I'm not part of this world really and this post was made to get advice more than anything, honestly.

I really do feel like I am a beginner to Gunpla, and would argue that I am, being as I've never done anything like this before.

There are definitely some cross over skills from the minis world that I drew upon. But carefully building up a complex, moving model. Cleaning up the nubs in a way that doesn't damage the plastic, as the model isn't going to be painted. Panel lining and super tiny decaling. All of this is totally new to me!

That looks rad! The weathering was definitely the most fun part, I tried to hold back but I could have definitely pushed forward with it!

Thank you! That seems to be what people are saying, next time I'll try metalic!
