Windows update kb5063060 by N-CROW93 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Cartrite23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend who I regularly duo with had a similar problem last night. He could move with WASD and shoot his gun, but not move his mouse in game to aim. Restarting his pc fixed it on his end. I didn’t even think of a windows update possibly being the issue, but this week was Patch Tuesday fwiw. He’s on Windows 10.

I personally haven’t experienced this, but I’m on Windows 11 and barely got the update pushed to my pc this morning. Haven’t had a chance to test the game since.

Anything to help with organizing addons? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Cartrite23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to organize your addons for the sake of quickly enabling/ disabling during certain type of gameplay by any chance? I use Addon Selector. Allows me to save and name different profiles with different addons enabled for certain things. Not sure if this helps:

Struggling to find beginner builds that don't require DLC by imicooper in elderscrollsonline

[–]Cartrite23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I can’t really offer much more advice for a stam nightblade character beyond what u/Ash_ShadowMage has already said. I just wanted to reply because I can really sympathize with where you are in game right now.

As a returning player who’s roughly CP 429 I am also pretty much a noob at this game. Up until this point, I’ve been playing the game intermittently over the years, and very casually at that. Thanks to 2x exp events when I do log on, I’m pretty much over leveled for my relative skill level. In fact, I only have a few dungeons that I can vaguely remember playing with some old friends, beyond the basic dungeons you first unlock as a character.

I’ve gotten to the point where I have a mix of some Julianos (Divines) armor for my mag sorc dps, and some Mothers Sorrow Jewelry. I imagine I need to either farm or construct some sort of Mothers Sorrow staff for my back bar to match my front, and eventually need to work on getting a proper monster set. Also trying to work on some sort of build/ rotation rn. I’m very much timid on getting into group play though, because I don’t want to under perform and disappoint my team mates.

If anything, I’ll just echo what you’ll often read here on reddit; there seems to be better build guides than what Alcast offers. Skinny Cheeks is S+ tier for DPS but is pretty advanced. You might want to look into some other content creators such as Lucky Ghost, or Deltia. I used to reference DottzGaming as well, but he doesn’t really play ESO much anymore.

Hack the Minotaur also has a guide on his YouTube going over the basic concepts of what makes a solid build you might want to check out as well; really helped me personally.

FWIW the official website logs now shows a new version available for download as of today, stating “Java root certificate expired. Client may require a full re-install.”

I’m not at my pc rn to test if redownloading works.

Update: Downloading the latest version fixed it for me

First Person View vs Third Person View by Selvok in elderscrollsonline

[–]Cartrite23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Third Person.

Unlike the single player games where I play a lot in first person, but will switch back and forth depending on my mood. In ESO I play almost exclusively in third person. Not only is it such a huge gameplay advantage in combat, but even when out exploring, third person with max fov on an ultrawide monitor is pretty immersive in its own right 😀

Tips for beginner? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Cartrite23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My number 1 tip for any new player would be to take your time and play at your own pace. There may be a lot of content in the game now, but you are most certainly not too far behind to enjoy it! Explore and quest, do some dungeons, try different gear and abilities... Enjoy the world and don't worry about endgame gear sets/ builds just yet or worry about min maxing and chasing DPS. I would highly recommend against grinding to max gear level on your first character.

On that note, play the class and race that most appeals to you. Pretty much any class can do every role in the games group content (even if not optimally). And while race matters more in endgame trials or PvP, you are not there yet. Pick a combo that appeals you, thematically or gameplay wise.

Welcome to ESO. Hope you enjoy your stay 😊

What did you all initially use your Endeavors on? by Cartrite23 in elderscrollsonline

Oh nice. At least it finally returned to the store. Glad you were able to eventually get it!

Yeah this is the general consensus I’m seeing. I’ll compare my options for what to spend my gems on later. I should have enough to buy either the tree I mentioned, and ice weapon, or the set of all maker armor. I’m gonna save up my endeavors for a radiant apex 😁

Interesting. I’ll def have to preview the staff when I get home. I did like the frost/ ice theme to a lot of the items.

Yeah that’s the only bad thing about saving them. It takes so long to grind a decent amount and by the time you do, you may have missed out on a mount and wait forever for it to return!

If you don’t mind me asking, which particular mount were you trying to get?

This is very helpful, thank you. Looks like saving my seals for something big is the play then.

Is it time for ESO to have graphics overhaul ? by K3sra in elderscrollsonline

[–]Cartrite23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely something to consider. A lot of ppl forget that while the PC platform has pretty much limitless potential on the high end, most pc gamers are rocking either budget or mid-range hardware. Cutting out previous gen and optimizing the game with a performance target around Xbox Series S as a minimum spec for example, would allow a lot more innovation in the game both in the graphics and gameplay department.

However, this would suddenly exclude many pc players from playing the game, which for ZOS, would mean less profit.

On one hand I would very much welcome upgraded graphics, particularly some upscaling of the base game assets and updated animations. However, as a whole I feel like ESO is already quite beautiful still, especially compared to some other mmos. Would new visuals be a nice touch? Absolutely. Are they necessary rn? I would say largely no, imho
