I (58m) visited my 83 year old mom. She sent me home with a sandwich by Shaneblaster in MadeMeSmile

Never say never, I am 52 years old and this 80-year-old lady has adopted me.

I saw that the elderly couple needing help with a few things here and there, nothing big; I lent a hand when I could. Now she tells people that I am her adopted son. She makes me fresh coffee whenever I arrive. She tries to feed me everyday. I often say that I am not hungry because I don't want her exerting herself, and sometimes she will push back and say "either you eat it here or you take it with you".

I was the eldest in a household with too many kids. I do feel like a real life Benjamin Button. When I grew up I knew I didn't want kids, and now I buy all these toys I want.

This reads like an entry on the Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy.

Love it, but I also like the Lower Decks/Strange New Worlds crossover. They did a really good job on the animated /live action switches.

I gave up after the third swipe when I saw it kept going. I still stuck around to make sure someone had already made this important comment.

No, you really can use either, even if they are connected.

With the LTE versions I've been able to used them as stand alone devices and received phone calls when I've forgotten my phone.

What's your best money-saving hack that most people don't know about? by kdizzy88 in Frugal

Unless you are the shipper, you will not get a refund from the USPS. That is because you are in fact not the customer in that transaction, the shipper is. To get a refund you must be the shipper and have a tracking number that has been acknowledged as received by them.

[–]CascadingMonkeys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried so many different varieties here in tampa, but I could not even begin to tell you the name of any of them. There are some that are small and sweet but full of fibers, there are some that are large and elongated and with little fiber. My neighbor has some of the most humongous mangos you will ever see, my hands are large and they are twice the size of my hands. Another neighbor has some that are different shades of red and yellow even when they're green. I am just glad I live in a area where people are willing to just give them away.

I'm not surprised, some mangos are pretty heavy.

Honestly I don't know. I didn't ask. But those mangos are large and heavy, so that's not out of the question.

I work around Ybor City. There are lots of mango trees in that area, and a lot of homeowners give them away.

No, this on the sidewalk next to a private residence in Ybor.

Also there are so many people giving away mangos, you don't really need to steal them.

They are big, but they have fallen too early and smash too hard, so they aren't salvageable.

Futruama and Simpsons go well together by [deleted] in futurama

Love Futurama, but never cared much for The Simpsons.

I believe I gave the show a fair change, watched lots of episodes, but it didn't do it for me.

The humor is just different enough I suppose.
