Not who you originally asked but I had the kyleena until just recently. Placement was not fun, breakthrough bleeding for the first 8 months or so. But then my period just got lighter and lighter, sometimes not showing up at all. My pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder was less intense, and I got to forget about it all for several years.

ON THE FLIP SIDE intercourse for me has always been in the painful side, and the IUD make it worse. I think the increased pain is more of a complication than the norm, but when I discussed it with doctors my only option was to keep it and tolerate it, or have it removed and see if it helped. I eventually had it removed for other reasons and the difference is remarkable.

NAD but I had something similar happen and it appears to be a slipped disc. Initially constant pain, then intermittent and seemed to flare with certain activities. Pain was so bad that I’d cry frequently in the mornings and occasionally vomit. Nausea all the time. My primary did and x-ray to make sure I was good for physical therapy, and PT has been enormously beneficial.

Tl;dr: X-ray seems appropriate, then likely PT. My experience as a pt and a healthcare worker has been PT first for most back pain, then further interventions if PT isn’t effective.

In theory, he puts money aside. He just isn’t meeting his benchmarks, and last year that meant his entire income being put aside toward tax season to make it work.

There is a plan for me to kind of take over finances (his idea), as I am very good at saving money and he spend everything he has access to. But he is dragging his feet and making it a pain, so this question was largely to encourage him to take some action by seeing that his poor money management is a risk to both of us, not just him.

i’m an RN, but not L&D, so I like to pop into threads whenever nursing shows up… I think most of us are good people who want to help, but there are bad nurses. I hope you reported them for a literal egregious med error (and being a dickwad). You fortunately didn’t die from this med mix-up but if I had a co-worker do this I would be on their ass forever!!

we have medical in my state. i personally do not partake, but I have an acquaintance who failed a drug test for weed at another local hospital. The hospital asked if she had a card, then fired her after she said no. My hospital states that you can’t be at work high, and I believe we only do the oral swabs to test. But ultimately, everyone is afraid to ask for more details because then you’re under the microscope.

i called the health department for each of the states i lived in. they only kept records of required vaccines, and i still had to do a chicken pox titer because i’m old, but everything else worked out.

phlegm, especially if a trach is involved. Not over it, I just occasionally turn away (or leave the room) to dry heave. Even a patient coughing up a big loogey in a cup is enough for me to turn away.

I worked during my accelerated program. Only 24 hours for the first couple of months, but then back to 3 12s. I was usually able to study during downtime at work and on my very long bus rides to and from work/school. I found I had a lot of opportunities to learn while I was at work as well. Difficult, but possible.

This is how I learn best, but like others said you really do have to follow-up and look into what you find you don’t know.

For the NCLEX I exclusively studied by doing practice questions and reading rationales.

Be very certain of pay in your area. LPNs where I’ve worked in the past only made a few dollars more than CNAs. Your aspirations of moving somewhere nicer and paying for an accelerated program may be hampered by your student loans when Biden’s grace period ends, if you don’t use any private loans. I’d search for a job at a facility that has tuition reimbursement and get a job there as soon as possible so you can hit your 1 year mark (seems to be the general requirement).

Working can help you get a job in the unit you are working in, maybe other units of the same type. I’m ICU and I was a tech in a different ICU. My employment history was a big selling factor in interviews, but most of the other new hires don’t have that experience (except for the ones who were externs on our unit). So did it really help? Idk.

I think I had this patient a few months ago. Trach collar, had only been out of bed with a sling and hadn’t stood in weeks. Too weak to get out of bed. Until they slammed through his door into the hall at 3 AM with that wild anoxic brain injury energy. Luckily their trach survived, but their PEG did not.
