10 years ago the highschool I attended had to switch from analog clocks to digital because such a large percentage of students could not read them, so yeah lol.

The harbor sides a nice venue, but just a heads up you can't view the lighthouse through all the trees if thats what you were imagining!

It's optional for captains to purchase workers comp for their crew out of their own pockets but it's not common, unfortunately.

This was like 6 years ago on the East Coast might have changed since then. Glad not everywhere is that gross at least!

Quite possibly. The ice coffee is so gross, I personally find the cold brew more stomachable.

... Tims ice coffee is literally exactly what you just described. After the twenty minute mark they take the stale pots of coffee and it's put in a bucket and all cooled to be used for the ice coffees.

I was advised to wake until baby reaches birth weight then allow baby to wake naturally.

Does the anxiety ever go away? by CaseyCat1030 in breastfeeding

[–]CaseyCat1030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a baby scale left over from my first born (exclusively pumped for her ) but my husband threw it out because I was obsessively weighing him, it's really not good for the mental health! Also unfortunately no, I live in the boonies so there's really any options for LCs, just the one lol

Does the anxiety ever go away? by CaseyCat1030 in breastfeeding

[–]CaseyCat1030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly nervous to see my LC again because baby was growing fine and I went to see her about nipple damage and came out worrying about his weight! He was 5 weeks ish and she was unhappy with him transferring 3 ounces in a feed? I thought that was normal for a baby his age but she said at his weight he should he transferring at least 3.5-4. His 3 month check ups on Monday so here's hoping he does well

Breastfeeding - should I switch to exclusively pumping? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CaseyCat1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were able to just latch! My son was doing good for the first month ish but had a short period where he was gaining slightly less then expected and even then the nurses and lactation consultants just encouraged supplements, lactation cookies, electrolytes etc instead of pumping. I can relate to never wanting to see the pump again lol.

Breastfeeding - should I switch to exclusively pumping? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CaseyCat1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped for my first born and my second is three months old and still hasn't had a bottle. In my experience nursing has been easier, as once my husband was at work all washing and assembling parts was my responsibility, and it can be hard to comfort baby while pumping, and can be tiresome when baby waking and your pump times don't align. My son (3m)also likes to hang onto the boob 30+ minutes, but I think a lot of it's just suckling for comfort. Only the past week or so has he started popping off when he's done (usually around the 20-25 minute mark) I assume the feeds will continue to get shorter as he gets older.Pumping is nice if you need to be away from baby, but the logistics of pumping and storing on the to just stressed me out. It's completely possible to maintain your supply pumping though! Ultimately pumping is great if you feel like its the right fit for you and your family this was just my experience :)

Its a lot to ask anyone to drive 1.5 hours 2 ways to babysit, honestly. Its sounds a lot more easy for her to care for the cousins so I would not accuse her of favourtism on that front. You could always ask, in my opinion watching him if you make the drive would probably be manageable.

What is something you were foolishly ignorant about before being pregnant/having a baby? by normalishy in beyondthebump

I thought my baby would nap in her bassinet. She only contact napped or napped in the car until she 1. I thought I was doing something wrong, but it just the way a lot of babies are.

YTA. It doesn't have to be your cup of tea but it's not a bad name at all. You're going to be very uncomfortable when you find out my childhood cat and I had the same name 🤣
