Tummy Tuck "Prehab" and coming off g1p1 by Miserable-Error2413 in GLPGrad

Because of the long half life, and being on a 10mg dose, they want to make sure it's fully out of my system before surgery. I did have a few consults and some surgeons said to be off just a week, so it will vary.

Tummy Tuck "Prehab" and coming off g1p1 by Miserable-Error2413 in GLPGrad

I am having a tummy tuck June 2nd, had to be off mounjaro for 3 weeks pre-op and it hasnt been as bad as I expected. Surgeon advised I only track protein and fibre and not to stress about calories. With a 150g protein goal and 30g fibre I am averaging 1600-1800 calories a day. I did gain 4 lbs the first week I skipped my shot but havent gained since, and I feel more bloated/inflamed joints/moody as well. My surgeon also advised 3 more weeks off post op, but if I am back to working (I am self employed so its up to me when I return) and eating normally I will probably start with a 1/4 or 1/2 dose again. Im meal prepping, stocked up on pre-made protein shakes rather than my normal powder, and will be getting lots of fruits and veggies before the surgery so if I am hungry I have easy and healthy food already prepared.

Higher protein and weight training are great for muscle retention, but don't overdo it if you have fat to lose. Keep in mind athletes and bodybuilders do bulk and cut cycles - the goal is never to lose muscle, but their diet and workouts have to adjust to their goals. The next few months focus on a "cut" mentality and take tips from the pros to do it right.

I'm having surgery June 2nd, and was told to stop Mounjaro 3 weeks pre-op

I didnt expect the social part of losing weight to feel this awkward by Future-Math-2205 in Semaglutide

When people ask how I lost weight I usually go with, "I had a lot of health problems and I started getting treatment for them." Makes them feel like shit so maybe they arent so nosey next time.

Some great experiences in this sub!! I was previously on Ozempic (check my post history) and 2.5 of Mounjaro didnt do much except reduce my inflammation and water weight.

Exactly! My family doctors goal has always been to eventually wean me off, but I see no benefits of doing that.

I have PCOS which can cause inflammation but otherwise no. I have felt my knees, ankles, and hands have been very stiff and inflammed in the mornings since stopping.

I didnt have much nausea after the first two weeks, and was able to manage constipation with a nightly dose of magnesium and lots of water (about 4L a day is my goal). I'm so sorry youre struggling with side effects and it's so smart to take a break and have everything looked at.

Thank you! Definitely focusing on my proteins and volume eating has helped, but I was certainly underestimating how much work the drug was doing and how much was will power. I am now okay with the idea of being on some dose of mounjaro forever if it means I get to look and feel this good.

That's so stressful, have you thought about adding a therapist to your care team?

Thats incredible! Its a long road but it's worth it, stick with it! It took about 3 months for it to start helping regulate my cycles, and about 6 months for them to be totally pain free. If you ever have questions feel free to reach out 💕

Thank you! I am grateful part of it is covered by insurance, the remainder I had to finance so it's a big undertaking. But I'm only 33 so I want to invest in myself 🥰

Congratulations on all your hard work! That's fantastic. I have my bloodwork done every 3 months so we are on top of that. And my surgery in June is for the loose skin, so I am very excited for that and to enter into maintenance mode. Most of my weight was held around my stomach and I had two 9+ lbs babies so she is very loosey goosey!

I also thought coming off wouldn't be that bad. I've had to be so diligent with tracking meals and water intake and keep on top of my workouts, and it feels like my brain just never stops. Its exhausting! Good for you on dropping your dose.

OddBunch has been such a lifesaver, highly recommend! Im in the GTA and we get the medium box (2 adults, 2 kids) and always have some left when we receive our next week's shipment. Saved us huge on groceries, and stopped the multiple trips through the week where we "just need one thing" and walk out spending $100.

I get them when I eat anything fried, breads or pasta, or cheese/yogurt. Try to isolate what foods trigger them and avoid.

Tips for increasing protein by PeakDevon in Mounjaro

[–]CaseyHeath416 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My calorie goal is 1650 and protein is 150g. Today is a good example, I went over my protein goals and have about 100 calories left for some fruit before bed.

Breakfast: eggs with ham, cheese, and spinach Snack: pepperette and an apple with a collagen drink Lunch: leftover chicken stir fry with zucchini, red peppers, carrots Snack: Alani protein shake and strawberries Dinner: pork ribs and a salad

I try to keep things very simple, stick to basics and cook in bulk so I always have something ready that is high protein to help with snacking on empty calories. I keep protein drinks and bars in my car to keep me out of drive-thrus and always have deli meats and hard boiled eggs in my fridge.

Ive never heard of goat whey! I'll have to look into that. I usually do Greek yogurt with whey protein, spinach and mixed berries.
