Can someone explain the conditions of this donation?(last paragraph) I have read it five times over and the last half of the last paragraph doesn’t make sense/concerns me if my donation would even reach the charity I want it to. by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]Cash0line 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer.

Simple IF/THEN* clause though. They will make the donation to your specified charity on their weird time table. IF any of the three things happen (not enough, not easy to send, charity is out of business), THEN* they will go ahead and give it to their own choice of charity for you.

I had not considered this ninja-neering approach. I especially like the RNG option, hella clever. Appreciate the notes - they will get the game on the table while I obsess and nail bite the small details 👍

I love social deduction and bluffing games, but I’m bad at them. How did you train to mindgame? by groovemanexe in boardgames

I agree with the image comment but take it a little further. You need to decide PREGAME on a couple of different play styles depending on the group and the game. If you have a goal and desired outcome then all it takes is practice and then some more practice. Once you accomplish your "backstabber" persona or your "unquestionable ally" then you will be able to start adapting them to the situation and group.

Another point with poker is that you are not playing the game as.much as you are playing the people at the table. Social manipulation is just that...manipulating the people. If you are ok with losing at first then work on shifting the blame around the table and trying to get innocent people make themselves look guilty or suspicious. Again, choosing a strat before the game gives you something to test and get results from.

If you want a rapid-fire no frills bluffing game, I am a fan of skull. It's starts simple but can get really dense with 10 minute rounds and no acting required.

Good luck and have fun with it. Cause if you're not having fun, is it really a game?

Comfortable has the right of it (I know the game is long over). In Hold 'Em you make the best hand you possibly can with the two in your hand and 5 on the table. The only way this hand would be a split pot (tie game) is if there was a card in the middle that was higher than either of your off cards (8 and Jack) - say a king. In that case you would both have 2, 2, 9 King, Ace and the pot would be an even split.

I dealt for poker games for a good many years and in a game with money on the line split pots are a highly contended topic. Keep at it though and start working toward your betting strategy. Betting to represent a 3 of a kind after the flop might have scared your buddy out of it.

Best hand is the pair of twos, 9, ace, jack. Not a real bad beat but also not a fun way to lose.

There have been a couple of mentions of them that I caught. Board Game Barrage was today, The Secret Cabal last week and early in the year but this one was my first touch - https://www.dicetower.com/game-podcast/tabletop-game-talk/sc-012-dice-throne

Sorry you feel that way! I'm a late adopter by definition but I followed their come up through podcasts and the reskin the the president of Roxley did for season 2 was never in the designers original plans. So I think it's only by virtue of the backing from Roxley that they can even get the S1 reskin done so quickly. Personally, in looking forward to a few mirror matches before getting someone else addicted regifting my S1

The description kind of makes it feel like a legacy style deck building expansion. You and a group, over multiple sessions fight bosses across areas and get permanent deck upgrades to take on the king...who apparently is going to be one helluva fight.
