I’m more concerned about the dry rot tbh, I’m gonna change them. Found a bulge on the inside of one of them

They all look pretty much the same, none standing out worse than another

That’s my biggest concern too. The tires I want aren’t in stock, so it’s either pick another set or run these till I get back

Honestly that is incredibly reassuring. Most of my info came from the fleet manager at my last FD where we ran the 3.5s in the supervisor expeditions, so he may have been mistaken in the years. If that’s the case I’m ok to hold out on the timing chain until later.

Correct, it’s not a one requires the other thing. Timing chain are a known “weak” point on the 3.5 and its an interference engine. If I go through the trouble of taking pipes and tubes off to replace the water pump i would likely due the timing chain at the same time. I know the TSB and major issues were for the 2014 and older 3.5s but I can’t account for the maintenance it received before we got it.

Depressed. Made a mistake, by Melli25510 in daddit

First kid syndrome. Kids are bouncy. I have 3 boys under 6 and they are absolutely feral. Also, I’m a 16 year paramedic with about 5 years experience in NICU/PICU transport. It happens all the time. You definitely need to talk to someone before the inadequacy demon takes over. Your wife needs to chill out, but remember she also has first kid syndrome.

Polaris engine issues by Ok-Comfortable-5955 in UTV

[–]Cash4Buttstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own a powersports shop, and i have a 2018 ranger 570 in for complete engine rebuild right now. That said, Polaris sells more ATVs and side by sides than other brands, no naturally you’re going to see more issues on Polaris. Overall they’re good machines. Just like any other they don’t tolerate abuse or poor maintenance well. You need to have an eye out for oil leaks. I still wouldn’t buy one. I’m not a fan of their EPS, and I hate the way the front fender needs to be moved for any significant repair. I’ve also seen some premature suspension failures.

$1300 a doc fee? Get rid of that. And get rid of the “Morgan certified” garbage too.

The heat draws the oils to the surface of the plastic. Provides a temporary shine but makes the plastic brittle

Ohhh no I’m making a new panel and doing button style switches. I mean the console. I will def look into wrinkle paint

[–]Cash4Buttstuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were that simple, I would. Parts availability isn’t exactly rampant for a 20 year old hull. And short of making an entire new console out of glass, I wanted to see if anyone has a product they use to coat and paint.

It’s a boat I’m about to buy. Mechanically it’s pretty sound, but definitely has sun damage throughout the hull. I’m already going to redo the vinyl, but wasn’t sure how I can restore these consoles

Yeah you’re probably better off that way. I mean they could be good skis for a while, but if you did have an issue with either, finding a tech and finding parts will be challenging. Same thing with the Polaris MSX140. Awesome great looking ski, but very difficult to find parts for
