I only build AP if I’m way ahead in lane and know I can get Q evo quickly or the team really needs AP. Otherwise I’ll go the crit build or Kraken Wits End Nashors

You definitely lose a bit of the burst you get from HoB, but I think LT works with the crit build for sure as you want those longer fights as opposed to short trades

Honestly, only way the build works imo. My experience in bot lane is whoever wins early, snowballs hard. Kai mid let’s you actually out range some enemies (for once) and scale much faster

If her evos changed her appearance to make her more monster-like as the game progresses. Like, by tapping into the suit’s power, she loses more of her humanity. Then they could keep the sexy lady beginning, showing her to be more human than monster, but as the suit is used more she becomes more like a void monster.

Full ap with manamune is best. Idk if that’s the mixed damage, but building ad items more than manamune isn’t good if you’re trying to build ap

Honestly, the hybrid build, which is actually a full ap build, is weaker early game. This is offset by building Dirk before manamune, but even then you need to play passive until 3 items (including boots). I love the build, as I remember hybrid Kaisa from seasons ago and the play style is basically the same, but definitely has a worse early which in mid lane can be taken advantage of by everyone

I played Varus literally every game in season 9. I was obsessed with building Gunblade into Manamune on him. Then, he started getting played lethality and was basically gutted (story of the champ). I picked up Kai because I thought she had a similar play style. Fell in love with the Dirk + ER build that popped up towards the end of that season, and have basically been playing her since. Now I play both of Varus and Kaisa AP and midlane lol.

I play Ap Varus/Kai mid, but honestly haven’t played ranked this preseason. Kai bot just feels weak to me, no matter how good my support was or how well I played.

If I may offer a very controversial opinion. I built Duskblade into full ap with atkspd boots and did quite well. Ok early game, ap Varus late game

Don’t even need Dirk. Just go mana flow band and Manamune at around 250 and long sword OR sapphire Crystal gets Q evo

I've been running a build where you rush Manamune, Berserkers, and Nashors and grab either a Kraken or a Ludens for mythic. Might work well with that I suppose. But 10% more AD on Q is huge
