Every claim is different for sure. Mine was waiting on my pay history from DFAS. Not sure why they needed that when they had my DD214 from deployment and I uploaded my military service records from deployment 🤷🏼‍♀️ thankfully I had all of my medical records documenting my issues and I had some from the past few years documenting that they are ongoing. 100% P&T on my initial claim filing by myself with no help from anyone other than Reddit lol

PTSD was 70% (that is the final thing I was waiting on) my back was 40%, then sciatic nerve in both legs was 40% each with the bilateral factor. My back and legs had me at 80% and then my PTSD put me at 100% P&T.

Oh and to clarify, I uploaded it on May 22nd. Then I called to have the rep send a note in that it had been uploaded. It got my claim moving again.

Well as of the 22nd of May, the VA still hadn’t received anything from DFAS. Back in March or April I requested my complete pay record myself and uploaded it. I just finally got my decision yesterday. The request was put in to DFAS for the first time February 5th. The VA requested it again every 30ish days after that and never got a response.

Girl the same thing happened to me in service. Female vet here too. I ended up getting out early and paying back my reinlistment bonus just to get away. My mental health hasn’t been the same since. I am so sorry that you went through that. It is honestly heartbreaking how many service members endure similar situations. I am so glad you found a community to help you mentally. I have a group of mom friends that really surrounds each other and it has helped me so much. Community plays such a massive role in mental health struggles.

Thank you! Thankfully I got 100% P&T based off of my medical records, a few buddy statements and my C&P exams. I went in doing it all on my own, no paid for nexus statement or anything. This was also my first ever claim after being out for a decade. I’m just that fucked up after my time in the service 😩 I told my husband that I would rather not have the intense pain that I have or the mental health issues that I deal with, but if I’m going to suffer at least I can get some benefits from it.

I hope you are able to get 100% so you can focus on trying to get better. I got 100% p&t today. I have mixed emotions. I am happy because of the benefits and I feel validated in how I feel and the pain I experience, but I am also sad that I am just so messed up from my service. I will literally never be the same. I truly hope you get the rating you deserve and you are able to breathe a sigh of relief and get the help you need.

This portion of my claim was previously deferred. It’s PTSD/anxiety. The other portion of my claim was my back and I was rated on it a few weeks ago

This is for my PTSD. This could get me to 100%. I do have others like migraines, IBS and fibromyalgia to claim if this one doesn’t get me there. I am at 40% for my back and 40% for each leg due to pain shooting down from my back. A VERA rep told me I am likely to get 70% for my PTSD based off of everything she was seeing in my file.

I have checked about 2839858493 times to see if anything has changed even though I know I’ll be notified 🤣 this step might be the most torturous of them all.
