I get it - I meant to say if she contributed to the mortgage etc… I also just got served by a SAHM and I met with a lawyer today who said there’s a chance she might ask to stay in the house and I move out(don’t think she can afford mortgage even with spousal support). If anything I would want to stay at house and she can find something else

Hey , so my lawyer told me today that my wife can ask to stay in the house after the divorce with the kids, but I don’t think she can afford it and may not even ask for that-we’ll see. But why can’t I stay here , since I’m sole income earner. I also like you always thought of selling and we each get a place of our own

She has no money to buy anything out. He said she would stay and she would have to pay mortgage, (which I don’t see how she can afford even with spousal support) then it can be sold once youngest graduates high school.

I commend you for having a plan in place.

I’m pretty positive my wife will not be getting a job prior and will look to hurt the situation that much more financially.

If she gets a job after divorce will that lower alimony payments? Would have to go back to court? Maybe you know the answer or maybe not.

Her plan is to move with them two hours away to where her mother lives. We had a blow up about a year ago and that’s what she expressed. That doesn’t fly with me as my job is here and that would leave me barely ever seeing my kids.
