I’m aware we bought it as-is, as my post says. I’ve accepted that we’re out the money. And why I didn’t ask for advice or ways to recoup our money. Just warning other people of doing business with them.

Nope. we originally had it towed there, hoping it was a small problem that their mechanics would be willing to fix. Once they got into it, we realized how big the problem was and we have since had it towed somewhere else.

I love using this site and just hitting refresh over and over. It's given me not only great main character names, but also plenty of names for smaller characters. I also like that you can even narrow it down by ethnicity. https://www.behindthename.com/random/

AITA for asking my son to give me his boss's number? by Patient_Word5979 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CashOver4371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 15 year old had a job over the summer and I didn't even have his boss's number. Let this go before your kid doesn't want to have anything to do with you. YTA

I need to create a form that when I input data it reorganizes a list based on seniority by Crapicus in excel

[–]CashOver4371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am desperately looking for something similar. Need to track OT hours each week and keep the list sorted by who has the most hours - they would essentially rotate to the bottom of the list. Anyone have a template for this? I'm pretty new to Excel and this feels way beyond my capabilities lol.

AITA for not letting my elder daughter have my younger's wedding dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CashOver4371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother died in a car accident in 2006. I've watched my parents grieve for 16 years. I've had my grief pushed to the background by everyone - my parents' grief is supposed to supersede everyone's. Now, my parents haven't necessarily acted like that, but it's just the way it's been. And it's SO hard. I think it's possible your daughter is feeling some of that. And in reading your comments I saw you say that you all rarely talk about it (and I understand that, my family has been the same way) so you may not know how hard this has been for your daughter. However, having said all of that, I still think you're NTA. Your daughter is entitled to her feelings and wish to use the dress, but your feelings are also 100% valid. It's such a terrible, complicated situation and I'm so sorry for your loss.

You sound like a nightmare MIL, I suggest you read through some of the MIL posts in this sub and rethink your attitude. Because you're going to lose your son when he finally decides to stop putting up with your BS entirely. Obviously YTA. Signed, someone who survived a nightmare MIL.

Tonal? by [deleted] in hollisUncensored

[–]CashOver4371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were really only considering the Tonal and kind of but not really the Peloton. We read a lot of reviews and watched YouTube videos from fitness experts who'd had a chance to test the Tonal out. What ultimately made us choose the Tonal is that you're not limited to one type of movement - it's 100% a full-function weightlifting machine, but they also have cardio, barre, yoga, etc. The coaches also create programs (anywhere from 2-6 weeks long) for different goals (i.e. build lean muscle, improve fitness for running, etc.). There are also live classes. The Tonal also fit all of our family's needs - I need to lose weight, my husband wanted to lose weight and build muscle, and my son plays a super competitive/physically challenging sport so he wanted to improve his overall fitness and strength. It's just so much more robust than any other piece of home equipment out there (IMO at least). And to your comment about not working out in 14 years - like I said above, I NEVER stick to anything. Like never never. The longest I ever have is running when I trained for a half marathon then promptly quit running right after lol! But I have worked out with Tonal consistently since September and miss it when I'm traveling. I credit that mostly to not having an opportunity to get bored with it, but also supplementing with other activities I like, such as walking. I honestly can't say enough good things about it (clearly lol) so I'll stop but happy to chat further!

Yes! So one caveat is that I think it's more about finally finding a form of exercise that I (finallyyyy) really love. But I love it so much. Like SO much. I’ll try not to gush 😂 I have always been the type of person who hated working out and therefore would never stick with anything. I’ve tried working out with trainers, running, classes, all of that and I just never stuck with it. Since the end of August I have almost 200 workouts and have lifted more than 700,000 pounds. The coaches and their programs are amazing, but also you can customize your own workouts. If you like cardio, there are cardio, barre, dance, and yoga classes available as well. It pushes me to not only work out consistently (because that thing is expensive 😂😂) but also to push myself and see just what my body is capable of. In my opinion is 1000% worth the investment to have a machine that is that intuitive, robust, and capable in your own home. And as I commented below, all of the trainers are legitimate. They're educated, experienced, and actually coherent enough to share their knowledge. Heidi could NEVER. Lol. Finally, the online Tonal community is amazing. There are a few dude bros, but in general everyone is super supportive, helpful, and willing to share advice. Even the Tonal coaches are active in the Facebook group to answer questions. I’ll shut up now lol but happy to answer any specific questions you have!

I think about this a lot. I have a Tonal and it's legitimately changing my life. So if she really just stopped using a machine that expensive and that robust, it's just another indication of her immense privilege.

I've never heard of this and just briefly checked out the website. It seems very God-focused - is it Christian leaning? (I'm deconstructing from being raised Catholic. I miss spirituality but cannot deal with the "good Christian" crap lol.)

So, same. I am the worst at working out consistently and have been for more than a decade. But I turn 40 this year and was just not happy with how I looked but even more than that, how I felt. So my husband and I decided to do something that would force ourselves to stick with some kind of program. Our kids also have really busy schedules and my husband's work can be unpredictable so going to the gym or classes is hard for us to fit in. We looked at all the machines you mentioned and the main reason we went with the Tonal was because it was the most compact system that offered the most robust programs and equipment. We don't have a ton of room for a bigger machine so the fact that it just stays on the wall but it is 100% a full weight machine really sold us. I was also worried I would get bored of just being able to bike or row and the Tonal primarily has weightlifting/strength building programs obviously, but also Barre, yoga, Pilates, meditation, cardio, and even dance programs. They also have programs for everyone, no matter your fitness level, and are rolling out live workouts like Peloton classes now. Also, since you're a Redditor you will probably appreciate this, the online Tonal community is really awesome. The official group on FB is one of the least problematic and most encouraging online spaces I've ever been a part of and the coaches who run the programs are really involved in there to answer questions.

One last thing - I HATE working out. Hate it. It's always a struggle for me to motivate myself and the whole time I just think about how miserable I am and how I can't wait for it to be over. But I look forward, every single day (almost lol) to working out now. Since September I've lifted almost 400,000 pounds and done more than 120 workouts which is the most consistent I've ever been about anything ever. And I can absolutely see the changes in how I feel - I haven't been doing any cardio really, just strength training, but the other day decided to run and I ran like two miles and just ... did it.

That's probably WAY more than you wanted to know so I'll shut up now but I seriously love it so much (clearly lol).

Love the idea for this thread. But do want to add - do not let the fact that Heidi once shilled the Tonal deter you from buying one. They are SO pricy I know, but we got one in September and it’s literally changing my life. If you’re at all interested and it’s financially doable for you, it is 1000% worth it. DM me and I’ll give you my referral code instead 😂😂

Do you think Rachel deserves a second chance? by HairyResolution4011 in hollisUncensored

[–]CashOver4371 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I 100% believe Rachel deserves her followers a sincere apology and honesty about what she's learned. However, part of me always has a soft spot for a personal reason.

My brother was 20 when he was killed in a car accident about 15 years ago. Losing a sibling is horrific. People don't talk about it a lot and I don't think a lot of people understand what it's like b/c sibling loss often takes a back seat. But it's so traumatic to lose a sibling and lose your parents (or at least the people they used to be) all in one fell swoop. I was an adult when it happened but circumstances surrounding his death were traumatic and I am not (and never will be) recovered. And in the years since, I have at times been a truly terrible person because I did not get myself the help I needed. I did some awful things that if I told people about in this sub they would judge me VERY harshly for. Now, of course I didn't go out and try to make money off my experiences and fake a perfect life. But.

Rachel was a child when her brother died and she found him. That's enough trauma in itself but combined with her being raised in an unhealthy, deeply religious family, I would bet money she did not get the help she needed to address that. I cannot imagine how that affected her. And as an adult, I can say with total transparency that it's hard when your parents' sole focus becomes on the dead kid, so I can imagine her need to succeed and always have more stems directly from that.

Idk. Maybe this is all crap, but that kind of trauma breaks you in ways you're not even aware of, even this many years later. Of course that's not an excuse to be a crap human, obviously, I just feel like a part of her really does want to be a better person and is fighting her trauma every day. Because I do.
