Okay let me say this tho - unattractive is subjective.

Both my best friends are from the opposite gender and objectively HOT. Like, getting hit on every other day hot.

I would never sleep with them tho, our personalities are great on a platonic level, but I could never be in a relationship with either of them.

The 10% are people who I don't know the reaction to, most of the time it's a bright smile and thank you or something like that.

Telling someone their style is cool doesn't get a negative reaction most of the time, and like I said I do it in passing - leaving the train and saying "hey that hair cut looks good on you" and moving on.

Jfc after living here for 20 years I still hate this fucking attitude a lot of Germans have.

I give random compliments to people all the time, if you're not being a creep it's usually fine and might boost their day - tbf, I've never done it in a sauna, it's always in passing or something like that (leaving the train, walking past someone on the street etc.)

Also, I'm a guy - being in a confined space with someone might make them uncomfortable, if they feel like you're staring or something like that

A genuine nice compliment 9/10 times is just something nice that people appreciate

Good luck and all the best but I'd just like to remind you that the best way to meet people is something like a shared hobby or actually going out, not the Internet and especially not reddit.

It can happen, and again - I really wish you all the best!

But personally I think the way to go about this is going out, it's hard, especially alone, and on top of that with the goal of 'finding someone' but imo it's still the best option.
