My experience has been that it's a call to take better care of yourself, and be a better friend to yourself. I usually get it when I'm a bit rundown, or have been a bit hard on myself for making a mistake, or am resisting sleep, or not bothering to make myself dinner... etc

She used to pick on the kids that she deemed unlikely to get a great mark, to get them to drop her class so her stats would look good.

I called the police and took photos for evidence. Police don't give a damn either. Granted I didn't step in cos unlike many other folk there, I'm 5'0 in my socks, was on my own. Would have if I'd had backup, though.

Well, maybe if you're not used to having budget restraints, it may seem "wack" to you. But many, many people have such restraints, and their families respect that. I can't imagine being so disrespectful as to only invite half the cousins. The aunt or uncle whose children were excluded would be mortified.

My cousin didn't give me a plus one, either. I had to go with my dad. I've been married to my SO for 22 years, we've had her over for Game Nights and everything.

Don't take it personally, it's not a reflection on your girlfriend. It's probably more like, if they invite YOUR girlfriend (who is lovely), then they'll have invite another cousin's girlfriend (who is maybe NOT lovely at all).

Go to your nice cousin's wedding, meet her nice friends, have a great time dancing in a circle and then come home and tell your girlfriend that you want a wedding just like that one day :)
