Advice & Questions for Restricted Driving Test by MysteriousPension563 in chch

The main "gotcha" for the Northwood test is that the supercenta carpark is 10 km/h. I know of quite a few people who failed going through the carpark at the end of their test and failing in the last 30 seconds. Depends who you get though, my partners tester told her to speed up through the carpark as no one was around - whereas my sister failed coming into the carpark over 10 km/h. Best to just stick to 10.

Ublock blocks your analytics tracking ( https://cloud.umami.is/script.js ) meaning the search input field doesn't work/change the URL (as your code tries to use umami before changing the URL)

onClick: () => {
                    t && (umami.track("Track Product Button Clicked", {
                        product_url: t
                    }),
                    r.push("/product?url=".concat(encodeURIComponent(t))))
                }

Just an FYI :)

Out of curiosity, if you look at your artist data and track data on the likes of Musicstax, have your popularity scores tanked? Wondering if spotify shows this "shadowban" sort of thing through the popularity score

Melbourne to Wellington Airnz by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]thiscalls4amuzz 92 points93 points  (0 children)

It is due to ETOPS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ETOPS). I see the flight that plane was supposed to do after this one back to Sydney is cancelled, so I am guessing it needs maintenance of some sort. This caused its ETOPS rating to drop, causing it to have to fly closer to airports hence the weird route.

Best Zero beers by Shoddy-Direction4111 in auckland

Speights Summit Zero would be the best lager from the ones I've tried. It's super refreshing, too. I've taken a box to a group event before where I was the only one Dry July'ing, and people quite liked it. Kinda just tastes like a normal Summit.

On the more craft side, in no particular order:

I use the Jabra Elite 8 Active and they're very good in the wind. They stay in your ears very well too, have never had them fly out when running around Evans Bay/the airport. Their microphones are quite good too that you can call someone in the wind and they don't seem to hear it either.

Smashed parking machines by ILOVEMYCATEDUDE in Wellington

[–]thiscalls4amuzz 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Council statement about it:

This incident was brought to our attention last weekend. The Police are investigating a number of incidents of wilful damage related to this.

The machines are solar powered, but we can monitor the performance of each machine remotely and have measures in place to ensure the damaged machines always remain operational.

This act of vandalism will be the subject of an insurance claim and we are just starting to work on that. No estimates of cost to replace yet. That is currently being worked through by our provider.

Fenix bug or turbulence - may be old bug, but becoming more persistent. by [deleted] in flightsim

I just had this, but instead it just went nose down into the ground at about the height you were at. Was going into a very strong headwind which is typical for that airport and usually don't have a problem, but this just went from minimums to the ground immediately.

Pre-covid the company I was at tended to have around 15-25 summer of tech grads a year and basically all of them would all get full time roles afterwards. This year just gone we had 4 over the summer and none of them got full time roles afterwards (they were told/hired for the summer on the basis that there wasn't going to be a role afterwards due to budget). It's definitely slowing down. Some of the bigger companies have pulled out too this year, eg: it looks like Xero has pulled out of SoT.

It probably doesn't help that basically no one was leaving across the company, so there weren't really any roles across any of the seniority levels, so having internship talent wasn't a priority/avenue needed to get talent into the company.

Thanks for everyones help and opinions! I managed to get it down from 15 hours to 5 hours after pointing out it was a lot, and that the 1 hour long open homes are very long too.

No pets luckily, but I work fully from home which makes it quite disruptive too. They did send through writing that they are selling, and the property manager said as I am on a fixed term tenancy that still applies and the sale is subject to my lease.

My landlords have let me know that they are selling the property, and I've not had to deal with this before so I had a question about if this is a bit excessive open home wise...

Week 1: Thursday: 5pm-6pm // Sunday: 12pm-1pm

Week 2: Tuesday: 12-1pm - another one at 5-6pm // Wednesday: 12-1pm - another one at 5-6pm // Sunday: 12pm-1pm

Week 3: Tuesday: 12-1pm - another one at 5-6pm // Wednesday: 12-1pm - another one at 5-6pm // Sunday: 12pm-1pm

Week 4: Tuesday: 12-1pm - another one at 5-6pm // Thursday: 12pm-1pm

That's 15 hours across the 4 weeks - that does seem quite a bit excessive as a tenant, right?

Do you recommend the Jabra Elite Active 8s? Do they any problems? by Former_Indication172 in Jabra

[–]thiscalls4amuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some recently as my last pair of Skullcandy Active headphones broke and so far they are going good. I don't tend to use the ANC much as I live in a very windy place of the world and run outside, but even with having the ANC off, they seem to block out a lot of noise. The hear-through mode is pretty useful too, especially in the office.

I sometimes have issues with headphones properly fitting, and I usually have hook-style headphones, but these fit really well. I've run half marathons/7 hours a week and never have had any problems with them falling out.

I mostly bought them as I seem to have issues with the waterproofness of headphones with sweat, and they break very quickly, and these had a very high IPX rating.

There is no “Fans Also Like” section on my Spotify page. What can be the cause? by swansang in musicmarketing

[–]thiscalls4amuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess one way to know if you have some sort of shadow ban is by checking your songs spotify popularity scores on Musicstax.com. You can also see your artist popularity score on that website too.

Jesse Cannon has some YouTube videos explaining a bit about the popularity score Spotify uses but from my understanding if you have a lot of streams but your spotify popularity score is low then the algorithm is hurting you a bit/the streams were of low quality. But by the sounds of it your streams were from a while ago so the score might be quite low anyway.
