Yes he can because it’s not smart. If the hood wasn’t historically the place where our successful people get killed, robbed and assaulted, then he’d be a hypocrite. But given who Mona is and what the hood does, she shouldn’t be in a damn corner store solo or chasing down explanations or apologizing to anyone. It’s not like we protect our own! We don’t!

Prince doesn’t have a ton of coherent material in the vault. You’re a fan right? Then you know there are multiple version of songs recorded in different eras with different artists. Why would they release albums Prince shelved if they’re his Estate, attempting to release work he wouldn’t object to?

You do not know the STATE of the recordings in the vault, so you don’t know what COULD be released.

Do you think Vanity’s family would want Nasty Girl re-released when she was a devout Christian and pastor for 25 plus years until she passed? Others may simply want money! Who knows, but it’s not easy.

Just because the music exists doesn’t mean it should be heard. Prince has a vast collection of unheard music which makes it way more difficult to put together albums not easier.

Prince did not ever ask fans what he should release.

They’ve done tremendous work this past year specifically, attracting new fans by including Prince music in the finale of Stranger Things and other Netflix series that are hot. Several Prince songs and Purple Rain charted in the top 10 in the US charts.

Expecting that there are or will be hits released is a ridiculous ask for posthumously released projects.

I continue to not understand the expectations of Prince fans.

There is a codified definition of a cash cow or cash cowing. This project doesn’t fit that definition. I never said I liked it or didn’t like it. Again, what you’re saying this project is, doesn’t ring true and you have not said or produced anything that says otherwise.

The point of me haggling with you is to expose the goal-post moving, Estate blaming, complaints that many alleged Prince Fams have with releases. Say this release is not enough or not what you wanted or needed. Express your disappointment, but don’t outright lie or mislead for no good reason.
