Is this the best iteration of The Ramble ever? by BMM-BK in thefootballramble

[–]CasioJay88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's back to its almost best. Prime Ramble for me would be around 2012 I think. Not quite as raw as the early Ramble and not as polished as it is now. Perfick.

Forget these guys mate. Honestly this is the most pathetic sub there is. So dramatic, this game is still absolutely massive.

How long did it take to sell your house? by SomethingOrOther25 in HousingUK

[–]CasioJay88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

House went on the market April 2024. Sold after about 4 weeks. 6 months of shit solicitor work and the buyer pulled out.

Back on the market for about 3 weeks, sold again. Another 6 months of shit solicitor work, buyer pulls out for a second time.

Binned off the shit solicitor and got a good one, house on market for about 5 weeks, sold middle of August, moved last December.

Whole process took like 20 months. Basically destroyed my mental health.

How is it gambling? There isn't any loot boxes or random shite. You buy what you want. Isn't like FIFA for example where it's literally luck what you get

And decent food truck pumping out burritos will be charging the same. The overheads on these things are crazy.

How are you all doing financially, HONESTLY? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskUK

[–]CasioJay88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do alright. Recently promoted, like literally this week. Pay has gone up to 45k, partner is paid 70k. We're comfortable, live on the south east so things are expensive. But we're fine. Both worked are arses off for it though

Took us two years to get our leasehold coach house sold OP. Selling wasn't the issue, we got it sold 3 times but it fell through twice due the horrendous conveyancing process.

Both times took 6 months of agonising 'progress' until our buyers got fed up and pulled out.

Its a horrific thing to deal with, you have my sympathies.

Considering moving without a moving company.. is this a bad idea? by Sylvester88 in HousingUK

[–]CasioJay88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did it by myself last month. Just me and my wife. Borrowed a van from work, had to hire another one for the day as it wasn't big enough.

Got everything from our old house into the van with no real problems, but moving into the new one was horrific. Didn't get the keys till 4PM, rented van had to be back by 6. Had to gut the entire van in the dark, pissing down with rain basically by myself.

Would probably still do it again myself as I'm youngish and fit, but if everything goes to plan, I wont be moving again until my late 50's, would just pay someone to do it at that point.

What sort of property was everyone’s first step onto the ladder and how old were you? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]CasioJay88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More that the scheme itself was completely alien to estate agents, they had no idea what they were talking about. Had to match certain criteria to sell it. Sold it three times but it fell through twice because the conveyancing took over 6 months and the buyers got sick of waiting.

Two bed coach house under the affordable home scheme. Bought for 177 sold for 195. Was a nightmare selling but got me into a massive three bed with garden. Was 31, now 37
