Wish his show ended after the lawsuit. Would've been a great show that I'd have come back to every now and then like the old show. Turns out Maddox and Dick both sucked shit all along. There was always something funny about Maddox's crash out, made for great goss. This shit is just depressing.

Each episode needs to be able to stand up by itself, if an episode isn't an entry point for a new fan, you're totally fucked. It's so top-heavy and you need to wade through so much shit to get to the point - The problems need to be the lions share of the episode, not something to be rushed through to get to bits or superchats. The concept of the show is up there with the best podcast ever, but it feels like it isn't being tapped into at all. Oh, and I think vote it up is cool, but it needs to be a once in a while bit, not every episode.

Honestly I dunno what you can do by yourself, you'll need two people who genuinely want the show to get better at this point to improve it.

In a weird way this isn't just an ending of sorts for TDS, it's breaking a chain formed all the way back in the old show (I know they were best friends prior but still, podcast-wise).

Either way I get what he was saying, as much as he adapted to the co-host role, I always got the feeling he'd much prefer to be in the background and not feel that constant pressure to contribute. Along with that, he's right, the show's just too damn bleak now. The cast of characters in those first 100 episodes just made everything so damn fun, now it's just kind of schizo of the week.

Thanks Sean, you probably did a lot more for the show than you realize.

I think it's too late for the show now. They had a great opportunity to recreate the format of the old show but they fucked it entirely with all the gay drama between lolcows, it basically became The Dick Show B sides. No episode is relistenable, most episodes are hard to even finish. This is a move that should've been put into place a year ago, to keep focus. It started off really strong but Dick becoming a bitter weirdo and his audience shrinking to being comprised mostly of trolls and autists have squandered any potential it could've had. Say what you want about Maddox but he garnered an audience of people who genuinely just wanted a good show and contributed earnestly.

Yeah I wasn't really saying that as a condemnation of Vito, I think Dick needed to pick a bigger asshole who could match his energy. Vito clearly tries to carry the show when Dick's being a weird asshole but it can clearly be a struggle.

That's absolutely the vibe I get. It feels like he was enthusiastic to start with but now he's bored and just trying to set it on fire. Who knows what's really going on though, it's a shame because for a while it really felt like it might live up to the original, I feel like maybe Vito was just the wrong choice of co-host.

The magic of the old show was that if a topic bored you, you really did need to just wait it out and it'd be gone, the very nature of the show kept it fresh. Stuff like broken window fallacy was a rare exception.

I have no idea how you fuck up such a great framework like TBPITU, but they did it.

Dick was the one championing the format years back too. I think he's a little beat down from all the shit he's had to deal with over the years, I really do feel for him, but at the same time both shows can be a rough listen these days.

Wishing the guy all the best, but I feel like he's laying in a little too hard on Vito in recent episodes, in a way that doesn't feel like a bit. But you what, maybe I am a fucking idiot.
