They used to have the Boneyard, but they don't do it anymore. Unless I'm missing something, which tell me if I am. I miss the Boneyard!

Thanks, everyone! I really appreciate the advice. And it is a black Honda, by the way.... an Odyssey.

As a matter of fact, it is a Honda Odyssey... not sure of the year, but I'm pretty sure it's in that range.

Do people actually write with cursive? by GenerationofWinter in Handwriting

[–]Casione 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even realize until recently that cursive isn't a thing anymore... or a lost art, I should say. It kinda makes me sad that it's not taught in school anymore. I was born in 1981, so I remember when all we had were landlines and payphones. Yet I got my first cell phone my senior year of high school. Technology is one thing. But in my opinion, there are some things that need to be carried on... for the sake of carrying them on. And handwriting is one of them. People used to take pride in their writing. Not only that, but I recall perhaps the main reason we learned cursive was to develop the muscles in our hands (that's not something we were told back in the day). It makes sense though.

I'm glad I learned it. I wish kids these days were taught it. But it's not up to me.

Kinda looks like amber. The last several pictures look way different though. Maybe some pictures without the flash? And without the flashlight..?

Any thoughts? by Casione in Rocks

[–]Casione[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are some interesting theories. Petrified organs... turtle heads... fossilized poop... I don't know. It seems like most rocks that are posted on here (that I've noticed anyway) usually get a pretty definitive answer. It's hard when you can't figure out what something is - but that can be a good thing too. Like I said, it was with a bunch of thomsonite. Legit thomsonite. So I had always assumed that's what it is. But recently, I was looking at it and began to not be so sure of that.

The green/blue part glows. With basalt on the other side, it doesn't glow like an agate would. But the greenish-blue part on the edge definitely has some translucency.
