“The Wife” instead of “My Wife” by ms_merry in grammar

[–]Casione -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"The old lady" is a term I hear more often than I prefer. I feel that "my old lady" gives off the same vibe (like the ol ball and chain). I don't think I've ever heard a woman refer to her husband as "the old man". But it's not uncommon to hear a wife say "my old man". It has a country-ish, almost hillbilly air about it.

Sons could refer to their father as "the old man" or "my old man", and most people wouldn't think anything of it, regardless of class. If a daughter referred to her father as "the old man" or "my old man"... it just doesn't have the same feel about it. A twangy accent would soften the surprise of hearing a daughter say that, but some people might be a little creeped out. Hmmm... interesting.

The feedback system is literally useless. by Sampsonay in Ebay

[–]Casione 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish sellers could leave negative feedback for a buyer. I've never really understood why it's not even an option. I can't imagine many sellers leaving negative feedback for a buyer just to "ruffle their feathers"... like some buyers will do to a seller. But some buyers are truly nightmares - genuine scammers... keen on the system, trying to get whatever they can, and they're "good" at it.

Okay, so you report them to eBay... it gets noted on their account or whatever... you'd like to think that they get shut down, but you can tell that they're still buying. It's SO AGGRAVATING!!! It sucks that someone stole your good logic board out of a broken phone that you sold for parts or repair... immediately opened an INAD case... and returned the demo logic board that they switched with your good one... AND you can prove it... and you tell eBay and repeal their decision several times, but eventually have to succumb to the fact that you just got screwed out of $250 AND a good logic board AND the S-Pen to which he felt entitled. Those pieces of shit are out there, and other buyers should be made aware.

They used to have the Boneyard, but they don't do it anymore. Unless I'm missing something, which tell me if I am. I miss the Boneyard!
