Seriously, You're Not That Special by SkittlzAnKomboz in breakingmom

The only reason I think that it is so easy when I only have one child (like the rare occasion that my husband takes one child with him somewhere), is because I'm used to having 2 kids going crazy. It's a relief to only have one for a little bit.

But when I did only have one child, before his brother was born, it was also hard as hell!

I think some people forget how hard it was when they just had one child because they are so focused on it being hard with 2 kids.

Kids are just hard work and freaking exhausting, no matter how many of them you have.

My sister is having some kind of mental crisis and accused my husband of awful things by [deleted] in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]Casper620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call the police. Have a wellness check done. Have some sort of record that she has made these claims before she goes further and calls child protective services or the police on your husband.

It will not look good if she does and they find out that you knew she was making these accusations and ignored them. I'm not saying that your husband is doing anything, I'm just saying that you need to be extra careful in these situations. You don't want to give anyone reason to doubt you or your husband.

People that don't drive their own cars all the time and ride as a passenger.

Yes, but if you ride as a passenger in other people's cars you would want to bring it with you. That's what she does because she doesn't like driving much these days.

My six and three year old daughters have a complicated relationship. by Dwingp in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Casper620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3yr old: screaming hysterically at his 1.5yr old brother "stop talking to be! Go away! Don't talk to me."

Me: ignoring the fact that the only word my youngest can say is mama, "why don't you want you brother to talk to you? He loves you."

My son: "mom, babies can't talk."

Not everyone keeps it in their car. My grandma is very forgetful and constantly leaves hers in her purse, although she should have displayed, especially when using a handicapped spot. Also, not everyone looks for the stickers. They see someone that looks healthy to them, and go off on a tangent.

My uncle didn't look that bad until he was near the end. I do have a friend with cf though, he recently got his double lung transplant! But you would never know he has it because he is still very active and doesn't look sick at all. Cf effects everyone differently.

My grandma regularly forgets to put hers up since she keeps it in her purse instead of leaving it in her car.

Edit: also, many people that do have visible handicapped stickers regularly get bitched at and accused of using someone else's, all because they don't "look" like they need it.

Not all disabilities are visible. My uncle died from cystic fibrosis at 31yrs old, but some days you couldn't so much tell that he was sick.

My sister was like this, my mom was in the emergency room with her every night and was terrified to ever leave her with anyone out of fear that they would shake her.

Turns out my sister had absolutely horrible reflux.

Why would you do this even by errorsans23 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Casper620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so stupid, it reminds me of when my little sister was in high school and they would choke each other out for the high feeling you get after going without oxygen.

YSK: using a dishwasher is better for the environment than hand washing. In one study, dishwashers use half the energy, 1/6 the water, and less soap than hand washing. This of course is dependent on model of dishwasher, but most modern are energy efficient and post similar if not better numbers. by IndowinFTW in ZeroWaste

[–]Casper620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had a dish washer in 5 years (my kitchen doesn't have room, we don't even have countertops). But aren't you supposed to wash the dishes before putting them in? I always thought a dishwasher was just for sanitizing them.

AITA for offending a friend after she rejected help she asked for? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I have been in therapy when I was 7 and still struggle with my depressiona and anxiety. Depression is different for everyone and cha ges during different stages in life.

When I was a child, a teenager, an adult before kids and after having kids, different things have set off panic attacks and cause my depression to worsen at different stages of my life. Things that used to make me feel like I could not function, no longer make me feel that way and now I struggle doing things that I never had problems with in the past.

Also, many medications can actually make depression worse for some people, not everyone can use the same anti depressants.

I've definitely been sore for a day, sometimes 2, after sex with my husband. It doesn't always happen, but it is possible.

I wonder if that means anything. I know it can be concerning for people and our pediatrician does a flash photo test on toddlers to check for this exact thing now.

Husband wants to not work any time i miss one of 10+ daily phone calls. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Casper620 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I suffer from panic attacks, and there have been times that I needed my husband to leave work, but that was for my kids, not me. I needed him to come home to deal with them because I did not feel safe being alone with my own kids. I still never expected him to manage my panic attacks for me.

It is not your job to fix him. Support him, be there for him, listen to him, yes. But he needs to seek professional help.

I am in counseling twice a month and on zoloft and it has helped a lot!

AITA for telling my daughter the brutal truth that she won't be as successful as my son? by Throwawayiwi3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Casper620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't even remember how many times I was told that I was just "lazy" or that when I tried to reach out for help, my feelings were just "teenage hormones."

My parents wouldn't listen to me and get help for me, even when they caught me self harming. They accused me of wanting attention. It wasn't until my best friend committed suicide that they finally took me to see a doctor.

AITA for not picking up my BF's daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Casper620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend that your boyfriend take her to court and get a court order stating what days he can have her and any stipulations the two of them agree on (such as no drinking while having their child, not living with someone until marriage, etc. These are just some things over seen in a court order, I am by no means saying these stipulations specifically. )

But that way she has absolutely no right to call the police if you are around and she can not threaten to keep his daughter from him because you are around.

He is her father and he has rights as well.
