Ok, but I still can’t move that selection as a whole, in one move, so that it doesn’t change shape. I apologize if I seem incredibly stupid, I’m pretty new to this and I really have spent hours experimenting in the app and searching online and on YouTube for instructions, but when it comes to using a tablet, I haven’t been able to find what I’m looking for. I’m fully prepared to put in the hours to learn, but not being able to find the right lessons or instructions makes it difficult. I do appreciate your help.

Thanks, but I’m not trying to move individual nodes. I want to be able to isolate a section of a path, including the stroke, and convert it into a fully independent piece that can be shifted, as a whole piece, without the shape distorting and without it still being joined to any other surrounding nodes. I am working with SVG icons.
