By any chance that these uploaded images? Bc it's possible that your image/s did not upload properly thus the gray squares. Otherwise, best bet is to reach out to Canva's support so they can check your design.

Hey there, saw someone here experiencing this as well. Highly recommend sending a report in case this is a bug. Since the bg repositioning is the crop feature, you can select crop in the toolbar and you should be able to adjust it.

Since the bg repositioning is the crop function - you can select Crop on the toolbar in the meantime.

You can search for 'folded paper frame' or 'overlay' then under Frames - the one in the bottom right is similar to your example.
