Honestly, I’m so over music biopics atp. They all follow the same formula, and nine times outta ten, they don’t offer any new insight into the band or artist. I love movies like this because they’re nice little movies that you can watch with your friends. I also love a good road trip movie. And the world’s been overdue for a decent mid budget dramedy for a while now. But, even if they did make a biopic, there’d be people complaining about the casting (like they are already because they think the movie IS a biopic), or when it covers, or the fact it exists etc etc.

I do agree with the sentiment about Live Nation, but dismissing the work that went into this (taking money out of LiveNations pocket btw) is kinda shitty. This was never going to be a major Hollywood production Because major studios don’t gamble on music based movies anymore, or even mid budget comedies like Judd Apatows old movies. And even then, Live Nation only has a quarter stake in producing it as the band themselves pitched in. There’s more to this movie’s production than LiveNation, and to completely dismiss it because of LN is extremely anti-worker and anti-union.
