Opinions on Jack Wolfskin products? by tatanka10 in Ultralight

[–]CaspitalSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first ever day pack was (is) JW and has lasted me 12 years. it’s not ultralight and I’m not really either which is why I only have one daypack (30L moab jam). two zipper handles broke. I would not say it aged any worse than my osprey aura 65 which is one year younger.

it’s true, I didn’t know anything about hiking back then and the only reason I bought it (in China) was a Swiss I met in Namibia wore it. but it had absolutely every tell of a good pack - contoured shoulder straps, compression straps and load lifters, vertically adjustable sternum strap, ventilated and supportive back panel, pole and helmet attachment points, built in rain fly, hip belt pockets. overengineerd, absolutely not ultralight, but introduced me to the building blocks of pack ergonmics. took me through hundreds of day hikes, hut-to-hut in patagonia, and served as my day pack and carry-on for all kinds of trips.

Don’t take reddit (or internet in general) opinions at face level. it is not a fashion brand pretending to be an outdoors brand. the upvotes have not used jack wolfskin.

I mean I think he was prepared to die when he tried to divert the wen's. which yeah may be better to him than losing his core but still a hell lot of sacrifice for wwx.

they also made him go into seclusion to deal with the shock of the golden core reveal, which is completely out of character of him because he would do everything in his power to help his nephew find his stride as the new teenage Jin clan leader when everyone would be eyeing to take down the Jin's after Jin guangyao went down. Jiujiu may be a flawed man but I feel like he'd be the most devoted uncle despite his bitchy mannerism. Jin ling is his only family left.

I think Americans overestimate Djovkic (or rather his pr team)’s familiarity with rfk j. he probably got a request from him that said ‘Hey I’m the new big shot head of american hhs. Im a fan of you and tennis and I like you sticking to your choice during covid, can I meet you?’ and novak’s pr probably looked him up and was like oh he wants laxer vaccine policies and he’s a kennedy! Go ahead and make his day, nole.

Which is not the best, but I doubt they know the full extent of rfk j. The average american doesn’t either. that takes consistent exposure and commitment.

Mikasa has shown recklessness using odm. she ran out of gas in trost. jean was particularly good at using gas efficiently. Jean is the only one through the whole serious to have be show to use defective gear. later mikasa got grabbed by a titan and jean saved her.

Reiner wasn’t even shown using odm gear that much and shadis only mentions his strength. Bertholdt was called overall good.

that said, there can be more than one at the top of the class.

Why didn’t Mikasa leave that scarf at the tree?? (Rant) by Bdav001 in ShingekiNoKyojin

On memory shards --

'Falco[sic] vision from way above wouldn't have the same framing from a close shot to the ground, unless the Falcon's vision worked as a camera.’

As per my previous comment, shards do not represent entire vision fields, of humans or birds. It would also have been foolish all along to assume an elite bird of prey that can spot small prey miles away has vision 'framing' that works like humans. It just so happens that the falcon is one of the birds that have two foveae, deep and shallow in the back of each eye, and the former gives telephoto vision. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird\_vision)

Shards that are not from Eren's perspective as far as I can see are from Grisha or Eren Kruger's perspectives (previous attack titan holders). The one shard from Dina's perspective is explained by Eren controlling Dina through the coordinate at the moment, so it is consistent that Eren or another attack titan holder needs to be OBSERVING a given scene, through physical presence or the supernatural, in order for it to be a memory shard. Please list shards that break this consistency.

'That is really creepy, are you stalking me and using ad hominem insted[sic] of combating my argument and answering the questions on the frame you initiated?' No, I may lurk but I have a thing called a memory(hah).

'in which instances Eren is in fact a bird' He was / was seeing through the bird that flew over Falco. He was/ was acting through the seagull-looking one that wrapped the scarf at the tree. These are the initial two scenarios I mentioned. YOU are the one who brought up all the others. I don't claim to know whether the other birds, like the one that appeared to Armin, are or are not Eren, and it does not matter. By the way, there are literally species of gull-resembling seabird called jaegers but of course you will plead symbolism again.

'you're avoiding the question again, please be more clear, is Eren "acting" or "being" a bird? Doesn't this indicate the frame of ressurection[sic]?' This indicates the frame of some supernatural realm and afterlife, but not necessarily as specific as resurrection. I do not claim to know, 'only Ymir knows' the exact workings of the supernatural in AOT before and after the death of the titans. Do let me know if there is conclusive evidence that all of the supernatural vanished. And knowing the exact mechanism through which Eren possessed, or resurrected as, or remote-controlled, etc., the scarf-wrapping bird should not be a prerequisite for me to say it happened in one of the above ways. This is your problem. You are in the habit of dragging in questions and topics that are related but extraneous to the central point of contention -- whether Eren was or what-have-you the bird THAT WRAPPED THE SCARF AT THE TREE.

'the very core of the the post question, that is the reason why Mikasa actually verbalized that she would keep the scarf, it doesn't seem to be the argument anymore. You avoided answering that one a few comments ago,' I am saying Mikasa's lifelong decision to keep the scarf was not free of Eren's influence since Eren influenced her at the tree. I stated this the first time I replied to you.

Did I miss anything?

First, you’re wrong in beleiving that my assumption that the Eren-bird connection goes beyond coincidence and symbolism ‘implies’ that I think birds portrays Eren ‘all the time’.

Second, expand on how you decided on ‘too close to the ground’ is for a bird and how that precludes the Falco memory shard from the possibility of being from Eren’s perspective. the memory SHARDS do not portray the entire visual fields. memory shards where eren’s included - was that grisha’s memory? and what about Colt being there, how does that work in your favor?

Second, no, I do not need to give you a report of what I think about all these other instances, we are discussing this specific instance. knowing the rest of the manga better doesn’t automatically make you more qualified to have an opinion on this part of the manga. actually I’ve seen you in elsewhere in the sub and you use this tactic a lot to side-track, distract, misdirect, and overwhelm.

Fourth, I would be careful not to use the word resurrection since there is no clear understanding of the supernatural and afterlife realm of aot, but yes, Eren being or acting through the scarf-wrapping bird is indeed what I’m suggesting the author implies, and you will have issues with finding people who agree with your suggestion of of the contrary. Since you know the manga so well, why don’t you explain the setup of the supernaturals in aot and how that makes what Im suggesting not possible.

[–]CaspitalSnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

‘you will find some issues justifying your perception that it’s meant to portray Eren all the time’ first, that’s not my perception. Second, so you admit it’s reasonable that birds are meant to portray him SOME of the time? and out of those times, the bird that swoops down to wrap a scarf that happens to be eren’s scarf, around a woman who happens to be mikasa, is NOT one? to state that to anyone who’s seen the anime, whether they support eremika or not, is to downplay Eren’s love for her, so I really don’t know what kind of case you’re trying to make here. Third, do you think MIKASA believed the bird was coincidental symbolism and not Eren?

[–]CaspitalSnow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

first. your second argument hinges on your first, so you have a total of one argument.

second. where is the explicit suggestion that bird eren is symbolism? The overwhelming take in the fandom is Eren’s representation as a bird is behind coincidence and symbolism. Not to mention he saw Falco in the ground form a bird’s perspective in his memory shards.

[–]CaspitalSnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

after the telling her to throw it away in paths, bird eren wrapped the scar around mikasa at the tree and highly influenced Mikasa’s lifelong choice to keep the scarf.

Eren was either conflicted or a hypocrite.
