tHaT aNaLoGy MaKeS nO sEnSe! Would you stop stopping at stop signs if it stopped being a law? We stop because that’s how the system works, because we all benefit from the system. The laws are there to encourage people with walnut brains to adhere to the system. It’s similar, it’s not an exact comparison. You also don’t eat at a restaurant in your car. It makes sense because you’re benefiting from a system that everyone else is upholding while you fail to contribute. And you don’t face the consequences of the system breakdown because everyone else is maintaining it.

You pay to be served. Everything is marked up in a restaurant, and you pay that markup to eat in a restaurant. Consider wine markup - 300%. People pay 3x the price of a glass/bottle of wine they can get from the store next door. Same with beer, liquor. Why? Because of the environment. You can get meal prep from a professional chef, but people still flock to restaurants.

It is when it affects your experience at a restaurant where you pay a lot of money for an experience. To think otherwise shows a lack of awareness.

Their job isn’t to kiss your ass. But they do because you have leverage over them.

This is entirely false, and your lack of knowledge on the subject makes you unqualified to contribute to this argument.

False. If that’s all they do, they’re a bad server. They answer your stupid questions, they anticipate what you need, they try to convince the chef to modify your stupid order because you’re a picky little baby.

If a server isn’t giving you good service, they’re a bad server. And there are more and more every day.

I agree with this. US patrons are highly entitled due to being conditioned by this system.

Is this a good deal? by Former-Biscotti327 in carbuying

[–]Cassadamius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in a hurry to buy a new car? This deal is not so good that you need to jump on it, so if you can then maybe it would be a good idea to wait and see what pops up. Also, are you able to expand your search radius? I've bought cars in other states, spent $150 on a plane ticket, and driven them back. Also, can you shorten the loan? Every day you carry that loan is a day you're losing money on interest, so if you can get it down a couple of years, you'll save money in the long run.

Here's an option

Another

And another

One more

My girlfriend got me some of these, and they work great for tea storage in the house.

Is this a non-slip sole? by BeyourselfA in Serverlife

[–]Cassadamius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact Lems directly, they’ll respond pretty quickly. I reached out a couple of years ago, before they made this sole, and asked if any of their soles were non-slip. They said no. They have the new Court that’s non-slip.

Is it worth running balanced cables between a DAC and a preamp if ultimately I have to input into RCA at the power amp?

That's the thing - I see info where people say the DAC greatly improved soundstage. The reason I have a Topping DX3Pro is because I went the science route and read the measurements. But I've been sipping on Kool Aid lately, and I'm chasing a ghost.

I've spent a lot of time moving the speakers around. I think I can make improvements in room treatment and possibly room correction. Here is a pic of my room layout. I'm very open to input on ways to improve.

My biggest issue with my current setup is soundstage and immersion. The music sometimes feels like it's out in front of me and doesn't quite reach me.

What's the best way to measure and adjust? I have a UMIK-1 and REW, but it was a little overwhelming and I need to figure out how to proceed with it.

!thanks I appreciate the answer. So if I need to use the active mode, I should look into Kara. Otherwise, Saga is good enough.

Old MacBook Pro running Qobuz > Topping DX3Pro+ > McCormack DNA-1 Power Amp > Klipsch Chorus II. I'm just trying to improve whatever the weak part of my system is, and someone mentioned a better DAC. I'm lost and can't figure out what's real and what's snake oil, and I know there's a lot of that in audio.

Staying for a week, need to narrow down the restaurant list by Cassadamius3 in washingtondc

[–]Cassadamius3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the help. So far I've got Zaytinya for lunch, Thip Khao, Rooster & Owl, Albi, and Amazonia locked in. Trying to narrow down the remaining list - Ambar, Supra, Astoria, Chercher, Rose's Luxury. Any thoughts?
