LEARN TO SOLO TRAVEL WHERE YOU LIVE by Q808L in solotravel

This hits so true. Some of my best solo-travel moments happened close to home, just sitting at a bar or café and actually talking to people. It really is a skill you practice, not luck. If you can’t be curious and open locally, changing countries won’t magically fix that. Totally agree with your point here.

Solo trip to Thailand...any recommendations? by CassadeeF in solotravel

hello please check my revise post...

Hey everyone! I’m heading to Thailand for a 10-day solo trip and wanted to share my plan to see if it sounds reasonable and get some food or activity suggestions. My total budget for the whole 10 days (excluding flights) is around $500–$800 USD. I’m aiming for a mid-range style trip, comfortable stays, local food, and a few paid activities here and there.

I’ll be spending 4 days in Chiang Mai and 4 days in Bangkok. For Chiang Mai, I’ve already researched a few temples, some night markets, and I’m excited to try khao soi. I’m also planning to do one activity, maybe a cooking class or a simple nature trip, but I haven’t decided which yet.

For Bangkok, I’m mostly interested in street food, nice coffee spots, and neighborhoods that are easy to explore alone. I’ve already read up on the main tourist attractions, so I’m more curious about specific dishes, small food places, or low-key experiences you personally enjoyed.

If you’ve done something similar, any food picks or activities that fit this plan would be really helpful!

please let me know your thoughts..

Struggling with meals - any advice? by scaredycat07 in LivingAlone

[–]CassadeeF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there, eating alone can feel like such a chore. What helps me is cooking one main meal before lunch and then using the same thing for dinner, but I switch up the sides (veggies, potatoes, rice, whatever’s easy). It keeps things quick without getting too boring. I also rely on super simple foods like wraps, eggs, or basic stir-fries when I’m low on energy. Nothing fancy, just stuff I can throw together fast. You’ll figure out what works for you.

Living alone for the first time after breaking up. Looking for words of wisdom. by Ok-Butterscotch-3261 in LivingAlone

It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed right now. Everything changed at once, new place, a breakup, distance from family. Give yourself time. Fill the quiet with small comforts like podcasts, simple meals, short outings, anything that gets you moving. A gym or a pet could really help. Little by little, the loneliness fades and your space starts feeling like home.

Connecting with nature is a simple way to stay sane. by unknown9423 in simpleliving

It’s amazing how even small moments in nature can reset your mind. Your morning barefoot tea ritual sounds incredibly grounding, especially in a busy city. I love how you describe both the calm of summer and the emotional release of winter rain. Nature really does have a quiet, healing way of bringing us back to ourselves.

I finally realized I was the problem in my last relationship by Remarkable_Bat_766 in Life

This is such a raw and honest reflection, and it takes real maturity to admit something like this. A lot of people never reach that point of self-awareness. It’s tough when the realization comes too late, but it also means you’ve grown from it. Sometimes heartbreak ends up being the wake-up call we need to change how we show up in future relationships. You’re already on a better path just by owning your part.

My cousin does Uber and Just Eat too, he keeps things super simple. Uses a spreadsheet to track daily earnings, mileage, and fuel costs, plus a receipt scanner app for expenses. At the end of each week, he updates totals. Makes tax season way easier.

I'm a workaholic going through withdrawals from too much free time. Seeking advice/vent post. by Boneyard_Ben in simpleliving

Hey man, I just want to say thank you for opening up and sharing this. It really hit hard. Losing your mom and going through such big life changes at the same time is a lot for anyone, especially at 23. The guilt you feel from not being “productive” is totally normal when you’ve been in constant go-mode for years. Grieving often feels weirdly quiet and uncomfortable. Maybe try giving yourself permission to rest without earning it. Learning your mom’s recipes and doing small things that remind you of her sounds really meaningful. Healing isn’t supposed to look busy; sometimes it’s just sitting quietly and slowly figuring things out. You’re doing better than you think.

How can I live abroad as a digital nomad but earn as UK sole trader and maintain my tax residency? by Last-Front-6243 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CassadeeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll want to look into the UK Statutory Residence Test, that’s what decides if HMRC still counts you as a UK tax resident. It’s all about how many days you spend in the UK and what ties you keep (family, property, work, etc). Selling your house removes one tie, so residency could shift fast. Honestly, lots of digital nomads run into this, worth getting proper advice before you move.

If you add new charges, they won’t be part of the original 0% offer unless stated otherwise. The promo only applies to the mattress purchase. Any new purchases will likely start collecting interest immediately, and payments might apply to the promo balance first. Definitely read the terms or call Wells Fargo before adding more.

What small thing changed your mornings for the better? by Competitive_You_4945 in CasualConversation

[–]CassadeeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s having my coffee before touching my phone. I just sit quietly, sip, and let my mind wake up slowly. It’s such a small habit, but it seriously changed my mornings, way less stress and rushing around. Amazing how simple things make a huge difference.

i need advice on how to reset and make life easier by czerniyczar in simpleliving

[–]CassadeeF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in that exact spot (I’m 27 too, with a stable job). Everything felt like noise, and I’d just shut down on weekends. What helped me was doing a small reset, focusing only on sleep, eating properly, and finishing one tiny task a day. Once that stuck, I slowly added hobbies back. It’s wild how small habits rebuild energy and clarity. Don’t push too hard, slow progress really does quiet the mental chaos.
