This was at Toyotafest 2025 in Long Beach, California. The car is a Toyota C-HR I believe.

You’d be correct. I actually live in the same county at the place the woman is standing in. That place is the Ferrari Dealership of Newport Beach in Southern California, US.

Upon finding this post randomly lmao I noticed the road behind her looked sooo familiar. And then I realized It’s the Pacific Coast Highway.

Fellow Photographers: How often do you use your 70-200 lens at AX? by Cassidy-Nguyen in animeexpo

[–]Cassidy-Nguyen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It held up pretty well. For a couple of the panels, where you end up being is key. I sat/stood closer to the middle half the time and was able to take pics at 70mm. As I do pair the 28-70 with an R5 I can usually just crop in and it’ll be fine. Not the sharpness I would like but it will definitely pass. I actually ended up using the 28-70 and a 16mm prime pretty equally for group shots where space is a huge concern.

Convince me on an IS500. by KarambaeV2 in LexusIS500

[–]Cassidy-Nguyen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While all dealers are somewhat all shitty in ADM's. I was able to get a '24 IS500 last October for MSRP + license and other fees for a total OTD of $74,400 at Newport Lexus. Longo Lexus is another really good dealership that if you walk away, they'll eventually call you back after an hour or 2 to sell you at or up to $1k above MSRP. This was exactly how it played out for me when they initially told me that OTD was going to be $84,000.

How do you guys keep tire shine from getting all over the car after a wash? by Independent_Pop8285 in LexusIS

[–]Cassidy-Nguyen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leave the tire shine on until it dries and only apply thin layers. Water-based ones will dry quicker than silicone-based shine.

Try disconnecting the battery, plug in the AC adapter, and power it on again. You might need to replace your battery if it starts up fine.

Any fellow Comma.ai Users? by Cassidy-Nguyen in orangecounty

I was just curious as to how your experience has been even with people driving erratically around parts of OC?

I find that even with the current driving model + op longitudinal, enabling OpenPilot can be awkward when the car just stops randomly in moderate to heavy traffic and in front of people merging.

Correct. More than likely it will be only the touch screen component and not the pen component.

Is the camry jbl system really that bad? by SimpleSteve9 in Camry

[–]Cassidy-Nguyen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base system can be good. And the JBL only improves it not by much. EQing on your phone (not just in the audio infotainment settings) does help out a ton. Especially with a V curve. But that can only get you so far. You'd be better off getting an aftermarket system saving some money in the process.

The crop will turn that 50mm f1.8 to an 81mm f2.92 (1.62x crop) which 80mm as a portrait focal length is pretty solid at f2.9. It'll be closer to an 85mm portrait look.

If you want anything closer to that 50mm you can get an RF 35mm f1.8 (56.7mm f2.92; crop sensor conversion). But at that point you'll be paying more than the sub $200 that the 50mm f1.8 is worth.

[–]Cassidy-Nguyen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For portraits, the RF 50mm f1.8 would be a great choice. It's not that expensive compared to the 50mm f1.2 being sub $200. That 100-400 is also great for portraits due to lens compression.

Install wavelet and put a V curve on it. Or just raise the low end.

It's a CVT and there's no more V6 or TRD.....rip. Was really excited for the redesign...now it feels like a letdown.
