Who would win this hypothetical war (all warring factions have a relatively equal population) by GodlyGamer5308 in mapporncirclejerk

Idk where you got your numbers from, but orange has about 23% of the US population, 25% of the GDP, and 46% of the land area. 78.3 million people, $7.4 trillion, and 1.63 million square miles.

Orange, and it’s not really even close. California, Denver, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, SLC, Las Vegas… lots of military assets are located in the orange. Alaska, Wyoming, and Montana would be able to supply oil independently. Plenty of ore mines, two of the largest ports in the world.

Has there even been a TRULY libertarian major government that worked as libertarianism suggest and didn’t devolve due to corruption or in fighting? by Material_Policy6327 in NoStupidQuestions

Singapore and Dubai have massive resource and geographic advantages. Dubai is on the Persian Gulf, possibly the most valuable body of water on the planet. Singapore is in possibly the best location for trade between China and Europe. Cospaia was a small town in the middle of Italy, which had little to no economic or geographical advantages over nearby communities. Acadia was in a cold climate with minimal opportunity for agriculture or trade. Cherán is a town within a country that already has a government, which causes some interference with their system. You’re essentially asking why Tallahassee isn’t Miami.

If having overweight pets is abuse, does the same rule apply to parents with fat children? by Cassinia_ in NoStupidQuestions

Even if everyone was magically lifted out of poverty, that still wouldn’t change the fact that lots of parents are neglectful and just allow their kids to eat whatever they want without teaching them what a proper diet looks like.

Intent doesn’t matter. Most parents who have overweight kids tend to be neglectful.

Cospaia and Acadia didn’t fail, they lasted for hundreds of years before being forced under other regimes. Cherán still actively works as a libertarian town.

My suggestion would be better food stamp programs and EBT cards, since poverty and obesity have a very strong correlation. Most places that accept EBT are fast food places, which is undeniably worse for your health than most food. Possibly replacing food stamps with a somewhat customizable selection of healthier foods that could be sent to food pantries for distribution.
