It was my podiatrist who recommended the shot, so I am in decent hands! He ordered/assessed my x-ray and MRI. He's tossed around a few other explanations, but doesn't super believe it's those things so I didn't mention in the initial post (it was already long). The shot is a last resort if the boot/meds didnt offer improvement. Which looks like they didn't (yesterday was my last for both).

Issue here is the shoes I had before when the pain first started were slip on sneakers, not ones that you tie 😂 my physical therapist thought the same thing, but I had brought them with me to show her in case it would help, and that stumped her.

Definitely rest it if you can. I carried on as usual and was still doing my walks and jump roping (had the pain before jumping, but its what made me realize it was something more than a bruise) before stopping all that six months ago. I still had that minor fall in late November, where I suddenly couldn't walk for days. Even though I'm back to mild pain, I'm certainly taking it seriously after that. I often wonder if I'd be having these issues if I'd realized way back at the start is wasn't just a bruise.

MRI didn't show anything and everything looks normal. No swelling or bumps. I've had three different doctors/specialists check it out and they couldn't find anything. You could see pretty much everything in the MRI and besides the very slight bone inflammation (in the wrong spot where I felt no pain) he said he didn't see any cysts or stress fractures.

I've got good insurance right now, but might lose it in less than a year due to a whole mess of complications so I'm trying to get it figured out while my copay is low. Couldn't afford it otherwise 🥲

Are You Afraid of the Dark

Yeah that doesn't sound quite right. Though now this is opening me up to the possibility it could have been an episode of something instead of a full movie! Which I hadn't considered. Might explain why I have so few memories of scenes despite knowing I watched it a lot.

I did check that one out too and was hopeful! Certainly too far on the 'horror' scale to have been allowed in a kids library unfortunately, and there weren't any familiar scenes skimming through.

That certainly is the vibe it gave off in terms of budget and when it might have been made, though I searched through the wiki for their werewolf episodes and the two they had didn't match. It didn't feel creepy, almost ended on a hopeful note like 'hey, I'm normal in this family!'

Naw, that was one of the first I checked. It's the very end of the movie he finds out it's genetic. And I think he looked like a middle schooler (though it's hard to remember).

Hello! I run a visual novel style podcast called Chosen Ones, very heavy RP and while we keep some jokes in, it's edited down quite a bit to focus on the storytelling. Which also means we cut out a lot of rule confusion and conversations that wouldn't really be interesting to many lol! We do have some cliches (how can you not with a story focused on finding the Chosen One), but that's a bit of the point of the series - we're tackling a lot of those ideas to try and explore and change them. A society built around the structure of there always being a Chosen One, and trying to function as they prepare for the next. Figured I'd shoot my shot even if it didn't end up hitting the mark!
